Here in Shreveport, La, The Club Eldorado, is giving away a seat into the Main Event, each month since Jan. This past Sunday, they gave there 5th seat away and my friend Al (no chop) Therica won this seat in FASHION STYLE,,, With a Chip and his chair, Al has a reputation in the poker world as a player that want chop any of these tourneys we play around here, WHY, he makes good since, its not bc of the money, its more that he gets the practice of playing sum1 heads up, when he plays in the bigger games. Al won his 1st major tourney in Tunica,Ms, he won a Bracelet, then during the WSOPC this past yr here in Bossier City, La, Al won his 1st circuit ring, Bare this in mind, Al isn't a young puppy, He's pushing into his 70s. So back to this story about the old saying Chip/Chair. The way the casino has this tourney set up, there are 30 players playing for this 10k seat. When they got to the final table, I was watching it myself and followed it the whole way. When they got heads up, the other player had a small chip lead but they went at it, blinds were at 5-10k,,, after about 10 mins of HU play, the HUGE pot got played, Everyone, even Al thought Ricky (the other player) had him covered, even by shaking his hand, BUT after they counted the chips, Al was left with 6,000 in chips, There was 600k in play, so Ricky had 594k in chips, Then the blinds went up after that hand, 3k ante 10-20k blinds, Al had 6k and went on a heater, from 6-12-24-48-96k is about how it went, then Ricky went back to playing, BUT after what he thought, he thought he had won it, his game changed and Al being a dam good HU player that he is, went to work on Ricky, I guess getting QQ twice and AA once after these double ups helped a lot, I stayed until I had to leave, but when I did Al had about 200k, and it took me 15 mins to get home when I got the news that Al had did what others dream about (even me) won his seat into the Main Event but doing it with just that 6 orange chips against all them other chips,,,,i guess this tourney will be talked about around here for ALONG time. He had just 1/3 of the big blind when the blinds went up, 3k for the ante 3k left for small blind (10k) 1/3 of a blind 1/3 and came back and won it all,,,,Now how sick is this,,,,gotta give it to him, at his age, the old man got game,,,gg Al, And good luck in Vegas playing the main,,,,
