Zuckerberg Says He's Not Running For President (he totally is tho) Zuckerberg Says He's Not Running For President (he totally is tho)

For the nine millionth time, the lesson of the last election was not "it would be a really good idea to elect a president with no government experience". Go be a congressperson or something if you're actually interested in this stuff. Prove you can be effective in this arena.

I'd still rather see Oprah do it. It would be fun seeing the right wing smear machine try and take down someone who has an entire media empire to hit back with.

It will be interesting to see facebook vs the right wing media griftosphere and reddit freelance deplorables tag team. Maybe they'll wipe each other out and there will be much rejoicing.

Sure he's a smart guy unlike Trump but just because he created a social network doesn't mean he will automatically be a competent POTUS. The whole "if he runs the country like his business" notion didn't work out with Trump and it won't work with Zuckerberg.
I don't entirely disagree. I'm pretty sure Zuck will do a much better job than Trump, but not as good as Obama or even Romney.

Despite that, I think it's good enough. As far as I'm concerned, as long as a candidate meets a baseline level of competence all that matters is how likely they are to beat Trump. I think Zuck's EV to win is probably higher than any of the Dems that are in the convo right now (I could easily be wrong or things could change). I also think he would probably make a worse pres than any of them. But his greater chance of success (assuming I'm right about that, which I may not be) is what makes him more desirable.

Anybody who votes "strategically" for Zuckerberg in the primary should be perma'd.

I would much prefer Cuban to Zuckerberg if the Dems are going to run a billoinaire

We all laughed at Perot when he said "Government should be run like a business!" but the left never bothered to articulate why he was wrong. Starting to think the establishment dems didn't actually disagree with him.

Comparing Zuckerberg to Trump as businessmen is like comparing Hemingway to E. L. James as writers.

Trump left all his investors holding the bag while paying himself a hefty salary. Everyone who has invested in Facebook has made out like a bandit.

Facebook has one of the highest worker satisfaction ratings of any company in the US.

When Facebook went public, most people thought the IPO price was way overvalued and now it's a pittance. When online activity moved to primarily mobile, there was doubt as to whether Facebook could transition successfully. Now, Mobile makes up a hefty portion of Facebook revenue and profit.

Now, I don't know if Zuckerberg's business acumen translates successfully to government but I have more faith in Zuckerberg than a career politician ,who has never created something from scratch, to face the challenges of healthcare, AI, climate change.

At the very least, don't use the Trump presidency as a predictor of how a Zuckerberg presidency would go.

6ix, why are you posting parodies?

It's a bit cliché by now but the joke is the Silicon Valley types are hailed as visionaries and ready to handle the bleeding edge of our problems, but they don't put their weight behind backing Obamacare, stand up for voting rights, and a whole litany of hum drum liberal issues. I'll take Harris on those issues over virtually any Silicon Valley type because she's spent the last 30 years closer to the ground and can at least put her ear closer to the ground to hear what people are saying.

OK but in all seriousness this was a better parody than anything I could've ever posted.

He isnt my boy. Whatever that means.

I have no problems with him being the butt of jokes.

It seems from your sequence of posts that you didnt even realize those were parodies and i was merely preventing others from making the same mistake.

I'm sure most would agree that Harris would be a better pres than Zuckerberg. Probably much better. For example, if Harris is a coinflip vs Trump but Zuck is a 3:2 fave (these numbers are hypothetical, I have no idea what they actually are at this point in time), then i'd rather go with Zuck. The most important thing is that it's not Trump.

Wait.

You really thought that I thought that Zuck really truly made a newspaper editor eat a copy of his paper and then said those quotes?

There's a no trolling rule here, unlike the other P forum, so I have to assume you're serious, right?

p.s. Not just me, but potentially others as well.
