By "technicians" I mean leading economists, scientists, sociologists... the intellectual elite

He actually reminds me a lot of Tony Blair when he became PM in the UK ,lots of excitment amongst the people at getting rid of an unpopular leader and replacing him with a young energetic guy who could give a good speech and who come to power promising to change the political status quo.

Unfortunately Blair was only good at talking about things not doing them and then led probably the most corrupt government in the UK for decades before being forced out of power to try and save his party from being wiped out at the next election.

Obama surrounds himself with marxists who idolize Castro, Mao, and Chavez...

I'd like to see someone in his administration who idolizes Washington, Lincoln, and Franklin...

Obama is a disgusting human being because of the people he surrounds himself with...
