Nearly all the favorites won out. Top 4 in the final four.

Pruitt/DeVos and Pruitt/Bolton both would have been solid final matches.

Nunes ended up beating Sessions? That's just wrong.
04-24-2018 , 09:02 PM
nunes is just absolutely the woat as far as human beings go and I would bet once it all comes out he's neck deep in collusion, but he's not really a trump official.

absolutely gut-wrenching decision between those two turds

Man Pruitt is just going to run away with this isn't he? In a field with some truly despicable people it is crazy one person is just crushing.

The press blitz is helping Pruitt, but he really checks all the boxes:

Lack of any moral compass
Stupid
Bought and paid for by terrible people
Actively supporting environmental destruction, pollution and death
Blindly loyal to Trump
Shameless
Unrepentant
Grifter

I mean he has had my vote the entire tourney. But man, to stand out in this administration is truly a remarkable feat for Pruitt.

Surprised Bolton is coming in last. He was apart of an Islamophobic think tank, wants to bomb like 6 different countries, and is just a complete crazy person.
04-24-2018 , 10:24 PM
Also remarkable among Trump appointees: the consistency with which they are abusive! Possibly the most consistent behavior, even more so than grifting, is abusing staff and firing anyone who dares not fall in line.

They all have personality disorders.

Yeah I feel Bolton is the worst and most dangerous of the four. It’s somewhat awkward if he wins though since he doesn’t quite fit the Trump-style deplorable mold. Reminds me more of the Cheney/Rumsfeld era.

This is all true, yet he is being taken to the woodshed by Scott Pruitt.

Bolton's potential short term body count might be higher than Pruitt's, but long term Pruitt might win depending on how you measure the impact Pruitt will have on lives here and around the world. But that also depends on Bolton actually getting it done, which might be likely but isn't certain, whereas Pruitt is for sure causing damage every day.

And then there's all the stuff dth posted. I can summon more hate for somebody like Pruitt than I can for a true believer like Bolton, even is the true believer is more dangerous.

He's also leading the charge to destroy the norms of our democratic republic with sham investigations and sneaky obstruction. You could basically argue that Nunes is giving everyone else the opportunity to wreak their havoc on America through his despicable actions.

He hasn't been on board the administration for as long, so in the context of THIS administration, I don't think he can beat out Pruitt. Also, I think there's a case to be made that Trump will only start a war to save his own hide... Deep down I think he's opposed to being over there, but will gladly do it to create a distraction. Bolton may just be the guy giving him the reasons/cover to do it, and if it wasn't him it'd be someone else.

This too.

Yeah. Pruitt is a villain in Captain Planet, but Bolton is a villain in Marvel or DC, just hellbent on war and destruction.
04-25-2018 , 12:30 AM
In a just world Bolton would die in prison, but he (and Pompeo) at least alleviate to some degree the fear that Trump will give Xi the go ahead to take over Taiwan without US interference/condemnation in exchange for a pointless trade concession or purchase of a dozen Ivanka handbags.

Do we have any real knowledge of how much influence/power Miller has?

He may be the most straight-up ideologically deplorable member of Trump's team and certainly has his ear to some extent but at this point he might kind of just be the token alt-right white supremacist without a lot of real influence. I could be way off there, though.

Meanwhile, Nunes is the most pathetic stooge imaginable and the media plays right into his hands. It might not have been that big of a deal in the long-run, but the Nunes op-ed, excuse me, memo ranks at the top of pathetically dishonest manufactured right wing scandals. As dishonest and pathetic as the Benghazi obsession was, there was at least an event that happened that warranted questions being asked.

Guys nunes threw a house investigation the GOP was always going to throw, and only claim to fame is his lolbad memo writing skills. Miller is a nazi who is literally the second most influential guy ****ing America right now. This should be no contest

The extent to which they would have thrown it and the degree of brazen methods they would have used are debatable, though, and Nunes maxed that out. That's got negative effects beyond current times.

Second most influential guy in America? I don't think he's likely to be in the top five, although none of us has any way of knowing for sure. But, I'd guess that Hannity has had as much influence on Trump as Miller over the last several months...
04-25-2018 , 01:38 AM
Both sides have good points which is why its close imo. I accidently voted only picking Bolton, but still not sure who between Miller and Nunes. They're playing for 2nd ( 3rd really ) place anyways.
04-25-2018 , 07:48 AM
Honestly would have never expected Pruitt & Nunes to be crushing it.

I think people tend to discount "influence" in these types of surveys, rightly or wrongly, hell I'm probably guilty of it myself. People in actual positions of power like Nunes are 'scarier' (for lack of a better term) because their actions can have real, immediate, apparent consequences.

Nunes is a bit of a shock to me.

In the very long run, Pruitt might end up being responsible for more suffering than anybody else in history.

In this league, even top notch competitors can look mediocre.

This competition didn't give clear guidelines on how to rate them. "Who's the worst?" is not equivalent to "who's in the most powerful position?". Often my decision came down to who'd do more damage if they had the same amount of power. "Whaf if John Bolton were president?", "What if Steve Miller were president?", etc.
