Who will run against Trump in 2020? Who will run against Trump in 2020?

Can't see how Cuban ever wins running as a republican. Rule #1 of modern conservatism is **** democrats, and Cuban supported Crooked Hillary.

If he keeps attacking congressmen in his own party or becomes a liability in their elections the impeach train will come way before 2020...

then again Trump voters are pretty loyal not sure they would allow that to happen they would probably make sure the people who voted impeach would never get elected again unless they switched to DEM

I expected the Trump-Republican divide to occur by now but it hasn't. The GOP is destined to go down to the bottom of the ocean with Trump because they know that if their constituents are forced to choose between the establishment and Trump, they will choose Trump.

If Trump gets through his first term unscathed, he'll either get the Republican nod in 2020 or run third party against the establishment. The problem is that the Dems don't have any inspiring prospects for 2020 and actually prefer it that way. I think they'd rather run a Warren G. Harding return to normalcy party line candidate, figuring that Trump was a fluke and only a few small tweaks are needed to restore power rather than go with a progressive candidate.

Dems should run Biden. Someone with liberal creds but can also reach out to some of those people who voted Trump but can be turned back (i.e. they want a white, male to be president).

Hate to say it, but they're probably right. Pretty much anyone other than Hillary would have beaten Trump --heck it was a close race even running against her. The danger is Trump stroking out or getting impeached and some bland establishment Dem running against Mike Pence, who could credibly rally the Deplorbales while keeping his establishment ties.

He'll be 78 when he is inaugurated. Liberal creds + an 80 year old to turn on the white male president GOP look!

What the hell is wrong with you people?

The thing I like about Biden is that (I think) he knows you don't whine to Trump that he's a bully, you just tell him to **** off.

The issue here is that the worst dem is better than the best rep. You need to go with what gets the votes and I don't see Biden being the best choice.

I don't know. There were a lot of Democrats who were displeased with Hillary and wanted change. I doubt another establishment candidate is going to motivate them to vote Democrat.

Yeah man, trump never had his picture taken while laughing it up with the clintons. :eyeroll:

The number one rule is to hate minorities. Trump offered that loudly and Rs responded. That’s why Cuban loses.

Fair. Rule #2 maybe. Cuban fails at both.

Are people saying Bernie is too old under the impression he wouldn't have run for re-election in '20 had he won in '16?

Just focus on who the best candidate is, not "electability." The D nominee needs to just be the best person for the job in terms of policies and passion. When you try to play some X vs. Trump matchup, that's when you get a completely uninspiring candidate and lose. Just pick the best person and the rest will work out because there are more Democrats than Republicans in the US. I can't imagine a 2020 candidate inspiring people to get out and vote less than Hillary, and she barely lost, so it shouldn't be hard to significantly outperform her 2016 results.

As for who I'm rooting for, Warren, Bernie, Joe Kennedy, Biden would all be fine. Just give me someone who can articulate their message and has a genuine history of progressive policies without centrist pandering. ****ing Donald Trump is president, there is no such thing as too young, too old, too inexperienced. If somehow they nominate a celebrity (Zuckerberg, The Rock, Mark Cuban) i.e. someone who has no history of trying to help people, I'm done.

wtf are you talking about, The Rock saved the entire state of California from a goddamn earthquake, there was an excellent documentary about this several years ago

Any chance Al Franken runs? Feel like he could be a very strong candidate.

I kind of agree but who cares anyway

Terry McAuliffe would be a horrible candidate and it would be a disaster if he was nominated. **** the Democrats might as well nominate Hilldawg again.

No more ****ing Clintonites!

Best documentary in recent history

What absolute **** prospects. This thread is just depressing. All just business as usual crap. That people even discuss Cuban as potentially viable is already a testament to just how farcical the US electoral system has become. Let's play pick your favorite infantile loser billionaire. We might as well just sell the whole country to the Saudis.

John Kasich's Web site sure does read like he's planning another run in 2020

I honestly don't know if I want to see Trump get successfully primaried, that would give him like nine months to stew in office after he lost to contemplate starting a nuclear war to spite the ungrateful American electorate.
