Kander for Beto's SoS.

andrew cuomo? lol. draft seems pretty lol too. never listening to anyone who drafts hillary.

Over half of those picks are atrocious.
05-17-2018 , 11:22 PM
jesus christ those names

i'd say closer to 95%
05-17-2018 , 11:43 PM
I've got 6 of those as good value, another 4 as not terrible and the other 14 as LOLWTF.

Yeah not sure I'll bother reading anything by Julia Azari ever again. I mean, I know this was mostly for funsies but, wow, that is truly terrible.

I like Nate's first four picks.

Wonder who the front runner is at the moment between Bernie and Biden. I think Bernie has a decent shot if Warren doesnt run but Biden is probably the favorite.

im totally off the biden train (never really was on it, but meh) after seeing those creepy pedo gifs of him with children. that type of touching ain't normal.

Crazy thought, but how about someone not born in the 1940s?

Legitimately think Beto is the best option.

pretty sure its not who they like most, but who they think will win the nom. in that case, hillary is great pick at that spot. like, theres a legit chance she does it again, like 3%.

Hillary was an awful pick at that spot. She's not running. And if she does, she's not winning.

TX gubernatorial election is this year. It's not unlikely a Democrat unseats Abbott but it could happen. That would make a Beto run easier. There would be a special election either way but the governor would appoint an interim Senator for a significant period of time. He's also young enough he could wait until 2028 which is probably the better path forward for the country but not for him personally.
05-19-2018 , 05:33 PM
Beto is a nice bloke and all, but he ain't beating Cruz. Sure, he'll overperform, but I don't think that's going to really propel him into the national spotlight. Would love to be wrong, though.

If there's anything we need to never hear again, its that anyone gives a flying **** about "experience."

Nobody other than close followers of politics knew who Bill Clinton or Barack Obama were until they ran. Then Trump ****ing won. All the mediocre Senators can run, and I hope they do, competition being good and all (see: last round), but they aren't going to magically be better candidates because they were part of the Chuck Schumer "make some speeches and basically do nothing" crowd.

I also find Biden to be way out of touch with the current political reality.

- "I don't think 500 billionaires are the reason we're in trouble."
- "These are good people, man. These aren't racists. These aren't sexists."
- “Today it takes more courage to engage in compromise to achieve consensus on both sides.”

Really hope the nominee this time is someone who understands we don't live inside the TV set of The West Wing and gee golly wouldn't it be great if everyone compromised and got along?

It's time for Democrats to get ruthless. A Biden victory would mean little to no policy victories or systemic changes. And Democrats will fall further behind Republicans who dgaf when they're in power, aggressively changing the rules to tilt the game in their favor.

Does anyone else think that using the word "keepen" should disqualify one from voting?
