Who will run against Trump in 2020? Who will run against Trump in 2020?

03-21-2019 , 10:02 PM
In 2000, everyone was saying that Gore should've won because the economy was great and Clinton was popular. LOL @ the models predicting a Trump landslide in 2020.

I don't think the Mueller report will move the probability of reelection one iota.

My point is they’re using exclusively economic based data which is likely moot due to how much everything’s changed, and they say in the opening paragraph how they’re only considering this data
03-21-2019 , 10:39 PM
Economic data in early 2019 is irrelevant to how people will vote in November 2020. A massive recession or financial crisis could happen in July 2020 and people losing jobs and Trump being incompetent during a crisis and negative headlines for 4 months straight would sink his presidency regardless of how good the economy was for the first 3 years.

More on the Mike Gravel campaign and the teens running it

Quote:
While Gravel maintains “veto power,” and the teens will call him up if they’re asked about issues that he previously hasn’t taken a stance on, he doesn’t review tweets before they’re posted. When a reporter called on Wednesday night, his wife had just been on her iPad, checking to see what the teenagers had been up to, and Gravel had been “explaining to them that there’s no point in picking on other people,” he said.
Quote:
In the meantime, Oks, his 17-year-old campaign manager, has to go back to school next week, as spring break is coming to an end. “It’ll be a fun thing to do for the rest of my senior year,” he said of the campaign, noting that serving as president of the Model U.N. team had now lost some of its appeal. After spending a frantic few days dealing with the complexities of election law and fielding media requests, “it seems a bit less exciting to play a minister of defense for Japan or whatever.”
Sorry Andrew Yang, but you are now the second best meme-based candidate in the race
03-22-2019 , 12:06 AM
Yeah, I dunno, I really hope Mike Gravel has all his faculties about him because if this is just some teens taking advantage of a befuddled 88-year-old man to run a prank that is not cool at all.

Well, he did win the popular vote and would have won the electoral college as well if the governor of the closest state hadn't been the brother of his competitor.

also lol @ circumcision haters, you guys got smelly dirty peepees and they look smaller all stuffed in that little burrito. mutilating your child's genitals should be mandatory unless you wanna give chicks (or dudes) a reason not to suck his dick. it's a passive aggressive form of cockblocking
No, circumcision in men is done for exactly the same reason it's done for women, to decrease the amount of pleasure received during sex. It's far more harmful to women than men, no question, but it's still barbaric no matter which gender it's applied to.

If you want to cut pieces of skin off your dick then do it when you're an adult and can give consent, rather than forcing it on babies who have no say one way or another.

Circumcision and reparations, seems like 2 excellent topics for democratic candidates to focus on if they want to win the general. I hope they add the use of alternative gender pronouns to their platform also... another major issue facing our country that goes over great in PA and OH.

RIP the great dick skin debate of 2019

wrong, male circumcision is done to prevent various infections, cit, and the practice is statistically sound:

Quote:
Most syphilis studies reported a substantially reduced risk among circumcised men (summary RR = 0.67, 95% confidence interval (CI) 0.54 to 0.83), although there was significant between study heterogeneity (p = 0.01). The reduced risk of HSV-2 infection was of borderline statistical significance (summary RR = 0.88, 95% CI 0.77 to 1.01). Circumcised men were at lower risk of chancroid in six of seven studies (individual study RRs: 0.12 to 1.11).

Mom used to tell the story of how my father had his done in adulthood and was a much bigger baby about it than I was as an infant

dino, maybe we shouldn't vaccinate people until they reach age of consent, either
03-22-2019 , 01:49 PM
I don't think parents should mutilate their children's genitals without consent, but killing them before they are born is fine.

Yeah dude that's totally the same thing.

Circumcision is US was definitely started as a puritanical anti-sex thing. Medical benefit arguments came in much later after circumcision was established practice. Also the reduced risk of disease are always portrayed as a significant reduction in risk, when what it really means is that instead of a 1/400 chance of contracting a disease, its now 1/300 if you're circumcised. It's not some miracle cure. It's not like European dicks are aflame with every STD known to man, from some googling it seems like US STD rates may be higher than Europe (yeah yeah many variables at play here).
03-22-2019 , 03:53 PM
Just imagine a world where everything else was the same except circumcision never happened, then imagine the reaction you'd get if you tried to propose the widespread (near universal) adoption of the practice. How far do you think you'd get?
03-22-2019 , 04:17 PM
geez, I gotta check my house for termites, read my insurance policies, get the car inspected, live through the worst president's presidency, get an mri for a shoulder issue, and now be self-conscious about my hoodless dick. tough times
03-22-2019 , 04:23 PM
reparations for circumcised dicks imo

When do you think circumcision became popular in the US? I think it wasn't until the 20th century. It used to be a thing, or at least a joke, that you could tell who was Jewish by checking.

This was a weird spot for me to open this thread for the first time, huh.

Me: look at these weirdos having a circumcision debate. How goofy is that?

2p2 politics:*argues about circumcision for three days*

Me: ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

2:30 Downtown Los Angeles, the next President of the United States: Bernie Sanders!

Will he address circumcision? Be there if you want to find out.

My 16yo daughter - the first person who told me Bernie was a boss - and I will be there. Holla at us/PM if you are there.
