I'm stumped as to how she doesn't win a primary on the dem side unless another high profile celeb also runs. Only bad thing people got on Oprah atm seems to be she knows Weinstein pretty well.

That's pretty much what I was thinking. Definitely do not think she's the best option for the democrats... but just goes to show the complete lack of anyone with charisma/leadership in the party right now.

I still remember my 14 year-old self watching Obama's DNC speach in 2004 and being 100% convinced that he would be the next nominee/president.

58 percent of Democratic primary voters in 2016 were women and 25 percent were African-American. Combine those and you get about 68.5% of the electorate. Oprah would likely increase those numbers as a percentage, by inspiring a lot of new voters. Oprah, among the current field of contenders, stands to absolutely crush it in those two demographics. Call it 70%... If she survives the first few states, and gets 60% of those voters once the field narrows, she's basically untouchable - that's 42%. She's got the money to survive the first few states even without doing well results-wise.

It's a virtual lock that she has better name recognition right now than anyone in the Democratic field. Even Bernie and Biden.

She'll also get insane amounts of free media - especially with access to TV show promotional budgets to use for rally stunts. Like, imagine a one hour special where she does some discussion about the state of America, politics, etc, then ends it with a "You get a car! You get a car! Everyone gets a car!" style giveaway of one year of health insurance.

I also don't see why this is GG Dems. Oprah crushes Trump in a general. She'd be a horribly unqualified president, by normal standards, but if that mattered for the existence of a party, it would be GG Reps right now and it's not. It might be GG Reps if this Russia thing implicates a bunch of them, but even then I doubt it.

If you go thru the list of states Trump won, you begin to see how difficult the task will be.

People who think Oprah has the woman vote wrapped up do not understand how much woman hate other woman, particularly how they hate successful woman.

Trump would get 4 of 10 woman voters, how sick is that.

Add in more voter suppression, misogyny by men, ramped up racism of Spanish and other cultures against blacks, and bam, you have Trump four more years.

Democrats vastly underestimate the hate is this country.
