This is a political board for leftist, everyone else is labeled a racist.

Says the man with the racist forum name, hey but that's OK dude. As long as you spout leftist rhetoric, your racist sign-in name is perfectly acceptable.
Butthurt much.....Geeezzz

It says the voters are ****ing ******ed as well. But if you win by running a moron then, well, YOU STILL HAVE A MORON AS PRESIDENT.

Note, I am not calling Winfrey a moron in this post. That is not my point. My point is she is a ****ing talk show host and has no business being president. Give me a ****ing break.
She's far more than a talk show host, she is a billionaire businesswoman who runs an entire media empire. Arguably one of the most capable and successful women in the history of the world, in fact.

And yes, voters are ******ed. Is this your first day in politics?

But the future of the world is literally at stake in this, so for me the calculus is simple. Oprah would win, most of the other names put forward won't. That's pretty much all there is to it.

The stain on Democracy that is Trump has to be put down and have a stake driven through its heart. That's not something I trust to just another lawyer who likes having their name in the paper.

I really don't see where you're getting this. Trump barely won against a horrendous Democratic opponent, and his approval is lower now than it was then.

Now we need Oprah to save us because no one else can win? What?

Dude let the primary go. Bernie was doomed from the start, and given how little known I'm assuming he was to the country at the time I'm shocked he had as strong a showing as he did. He was never winning any of the southern states, and it was way to big of a hole to overcome.

I changed my registration and voted for the first time since 2000 because of Bernie. I've got legitimate hope that an honest, progressive platform could win a nationwide election with a strong candidate. A better organized campaign that gets a bit more money and actually starts at the beginning of the cycle would have a puncher's chance, imo.

"Oprah is the only candidate that can win" clearly an epic hyperbole of a hot take. Even if you're extraordinarily optimistic about Oprah, it seems wild to think she can improve the Dem victory equity by even 20%.

EDIT: If anyone wants to disagree please be aware that my next post will be asking you to back up your opinion with a bet
02-21-2018 , 07:54 PM
I'd imagine against some Dems it would be higher than 20% from name recognition.
02-21-2018 , 07:57 PM
Can we change the rules and just run Emma Gonzalez and David Hogg?

If she backs Bernie Hillary still wins but the Russian propaganda bots would've had even less work to do suppressing the Bernie bros in the GE. She played it fine.

My wild wild guesses

Joe Kennedy III

Kamala Harris

Joe Biden Elizabeth Warren.

Andrew Yang

Harry Braun.

Kennedy has said he won't run ...which makes me think he deffo will ...it's just to avoid mud slinging now...like any time you name someone the attacks start

Bernie maybe...but he is so much older.

I mean, if that assumption is granted then your position makes sense. Oprah > Trump, sure.

But that assumption is absolutely insane.

The downside to running Oprah is sort of obvious, and it is that after you win, Oprah is president.

Please, she'd do a great job. There will be a lot of damage to undo though, so it's going to be challenging no matter who comes in next.

Just remember, one thing trumps everything in elections and that's charisma. Trump is a moron but he's got barrels of it.

What are you basing this on?
02-23-2018 , 12:04 PM
Oprah has off the charts EQ, real empathy, and she actually built her media empire from the ground up suggesting she's actually good at this business thing and hiring the right people.
02-23-2018 , 12:40 PM
She's also a grifter who peddles junk science and pop-psychobable. Dr. Oz as Surgeon General isn't going to be any better than Ben Carson as Sec. of HUD.
02-23-2018 , 03:34 PM
Wait, daytime television shows are primarily about entertainment?

Stop the presses.
02-23-2018 , 04:04 PM
You can do entertainment without a misinformation campaign.

What, how the **** do you know? She has no experience in politics. You don't start out your politics career by being president for god ****ing sake.

Yeah, she might be able to win an election against Trump, so what? Then we go from unqualified evil moron to just unqualified. It's an improvement but we can do much much much better.

Read the thread:

The first Dem with any name recognition who comes out hard against Russia and how they’ve attacked us and our democracy, and how WE WON’T SAND FOR IT...

Is going to win.

Grunching to post about my political crush on Kamala Harris. Carry on.

From the fact that someone has had success in business it makes more sene to infer that the person is a dishonest, cheating, lying, self-centered, egotistical, society-hating, no tax paying, lowlife than that they are "good at hiring the right people.

I want Howard Dean back that boy is sexy and one tuff trump hater.
02-26-2018 , 12:52 AM
The American people have decided that someone as unhinged as Dean should never become president. He's basically a madman. Remember he shouted that one time? That's not presidential behavior. We can't have that. Not for the highest office in the land.
