What? Why is the pic of Mary offensive? Really, I can think of offensive pictures of Mary bu this isn't even close. Do you realize it's a picture of actual religious doctrine?

When is the next debate ? I am bored and want some entertainment

Oct 11, this Tuesday. Same line up as the last one except Johnson who they left off the polls so he wouldnt get the 1% required to get a invite. Lol.

so despite brave attempts by gary johnson's astroturfers, the politically active twoplustwo community could not quite catapult him onto the debate stage

debates have been hurting perry's poll numbers so im guessing there won't be anymore.

So I briefly listened to Bob Schieffer interview Gingrich and Cain. Gingrich was saying the President should ignore SCOTUS decisions in favor of Gitmo detainees and Cain was saying that the OccupyWallStreet people are mostly just jealous of the rich.

I like the 1% cut off. No candidate with a credible chance to be president could fail to get to 1% support through means other than appearing in the debates. Heck they could make the cut off higher. We don't need pontificators who run to make their speeches, we need candidates who can potentially be the nominee.

What about people that polled above 1% previously but weren't included in the most recent poll?

Boa's method of determining who should be allowed in a Republican debate: if someone on the left likes them, THEY'RE OUT

Now you guys are forcing me to reevaluate.
I remember O'Donnell from the McLaughlin Group where he would totally annihilate Tony Blankley or whatever conservative they had on.

But he does get petty. Back in 2008 he was constantly talking about how racist Mormonism was/is. Seems to be interested most in point-scoring, which you could see in that Cain interview.

I have no idea why people are surprised. He's basically Olbermann's replacement.

I don't think surprised is the right word 13, I think 'easy target' would be much more applicable.

Only 3 candidates in double digits on our IA poll- Cain, Romney, Paul. Romney has real chance there, would be crazy not to try
Still think Romney has made a serious mistake campaign strategy wise pretty much ignoring Iowa the whole cycle.

not spending a dime here and still finishing 1st or 2nd seems like a good strategy imo

It'll never happen anyway.

The Hermanator continues his inexorable march to the top of the Republican leaderboard (polling-wise). According to the latest Gallup poll Romney leads Cain by a scant 2 points and Cain is ahead of Perry by 3 points.

Whoda thunk the racist conservative Christian Republicans top choice would come down to a Mormon and an uppity black man?

One of these 2 will win and the VP nom will be either the loser, Daniels or Rubio.

In other breaking news, Obama's Favorable/unfavorable numbers remain in the toilet tickling all time lows:

The VP will not one of the losing candidates, that's a lock. It will be Daniels or some obscure guy no one's ever heard of.

Are you insinuating that Sarah Palin does, in fact, have a penis?
10-10-2011 , 10:43 PM
Palin ain't gonna be a VP, really don't get the obsession with her (and frequently from the left). She ain't gonna run doodz.

Reference to 2008, calm down.

Even as a Perry doubter initially, this seems ridiculous to me. He can't get to 10% in IA? Are the people being polled really so tuned into the race that the debate had so much of an impact as to lob 10+% off his polling numbers, cutting his support in half-ish?

Eh, I go around in circles on this one. To win, the GOP needs to focus the majority of their efforts on Florida and Ohio, and not lose key States like VA and NC that they did in 2008. A Romney/Cain ticket kinda helps with the former (relative to the field they have), but I don't see how it helps the latter. Romney isn't popular with social conservatives, and... how to put this lightly... you're counting on a contingent of white Southern males to love the idea of a black guy on the ticket (albeit not at the top).

I can honestly say I have no idea who the nominee will be at this point. The voters seem fickle, and this is one cluster **** of a field. Whoever it is, I don't think they have a great shot at beating Obama with the way the electoral map shapes up.
