In a parallel universe, there is a Facebook thread on my feed with trump supporters talking about how they want move out of California if they pass a law that outlaws tackle football for kids. They are very serious. It is amazing, but the only thing keeping a few of them here in this ****hole state where they don’t allow you to arrest druggies and let prisoners run free is their state pension. Folks in Alaska inviting them to come up to where there are lax gun laws and the state pays you every year, and your 6 year old can play tackle football without libs trying to give them a participation trophy.

Now that I know the formula, seems like a good place to funnel money is outlawing contact sports for children.

The future of my grandkids. The wreck our political system is becoming, the stock market, will my wife and I have enough money to live on should I retire or become ill.

If taking off and leaving the country is your answer, then go.

I will see if I can get through this and maybe help make things better and work for change. If not, then yes, my share of beer is all that matters.

working the ranch when three obvious illegals come up on me asking for work. I told them no trabajo. Two then got behind me and pulled knives when the lead guy said dame denaro. I gave them the money in my pocket (less than $5) they laughed in my face as they walked off. That was one time.

If anyone robbed me of a stable future it is my fault for letting it happen. If I had fought harder, gotten a better education, positioned myself better or gotten more involved then maybe it would be different.

I have pretty good health care because the people before me fought for it. I have a pension and 401k because good men and women before me fought and sometimes died for it.

I have a more stable future than probably 90% of the rest of the world. Granted, some countries are better. Those that want to should go there now.

There is no replacement or fix for the ACA that has been torpedoed. The profit motive in medical insurance has broken the system to give us some of the most expensive health care in the world and it is protected by electied officials paid off by lobbies.

My mother who is 70, and my grandmother who is 93 do not worry at all about bankrupting themselves it their family, or seeking medical attention whenever the **** they need it. Same goes for my sister and her baby. In Canada.

Me? I was just billed over $700 for taking my son to a nurse practitioner for nurse maids elbow, a super common issue for 3 year olds. $491 of that was for the “surgery” where she gently bent his hand toward his shoulder. The rest was for X-rays and the visit fee. I already pay 12k a year in premiums.

You have a 60 year old who apparently worked hard his whole life who is lamenting that he wasn’t adept enough in acquiring more wealth, admits he has it better than most yet still is worried he will be ****ed, and the wealthiest just got gifted his net worth several times over. 30x the lol pandering “tax trickle down bonuses” has already been spent on stock buy backs. The economy has gone through amazing growth and over 80% of the wealth last year went to the top 1%. What am I supposed to be citing again? I guess the answer is it is our fault for not being in the 1%.

I need more details here. Did they walk or were they in a car? Did you report it to the police? Why do you think they didn't just kill you? Who asks someone for work and then robs them? Why didn't they just rob you first? If they were near your house, why didn't they steal actual stuff, like your car. I mean, if you are going to rob someone, you rob them. You don't take $5 and walk away.

I mean, who walks or drives out to a ranch randomly looking for work? This sounds like a story out of a 1950s movie.
