One of the biggest social taboos is that white people are supposed to stick together. You know the old story, the uncle at Thanksgiving says some really horrible racist **** every year but you're supposed to love him because he's from a different generation and all that. If white people would actually say no more, you've crossed too many lines with your bull****, and finally stop being civil with these people, I feel it would be an incredibly positive development.

From Nancy Pelosi that's bad and is really her picking sides (the other side) and not a call for peace. She's the constant victim of uncivil outrage. She has probably gotten a pile of death threats every day for the last decade.

People are constantly jumping at these stories when they focus on the fact that innocent people are being detained in internment camps for seeking asylum.

Sure they aren't taking children from their parents. But now they're just detaining them together. That needs to be called out.

As for people like Pelosi, they know that if getting kicked out of restaurants becomes the norm for right-wing politicians, it will become the norm for them as well. So it's in their best interests to keep things civil so their lives aren't affected.

There's no way that Nancy Pelosi dares set foot in an Appleby's in Arkansas as is. Such is life. SHS has plenty of such places to eat. The difference here is that libruls are nicer. In the Arkansas Appleby's Pelosi will be threated and maybe shot. At worst SHS gets called a Nazi and told to leave if she goes to a restaurant in a librul city.

Nah. Those people act tough but when there are consequences to their actions, they don't act quite as tough unless they're with a gang of their buddies and an arsenal.

If there's a risk of that happening, I doubt any politician walks around that place without a security detail.

I think the hesitation comes from the notion, which a lot of people believe, but no one will say, is that large swaths of Republicans don't see liberals as legitimate human beings and so not serving Sanders because Trump is kidnapping babies to hold them hostage because it's beyond the pale of human decency means that Republicans will not serve liberals period because a 2% tax hike to pay for road repairs is the road to serfdom or more colloquially, communism.
