Everything I'm reading says the queen will not be involved in picking a PM and at worse may only decline to give her speech in person.

They do not take their seats in Westminster because they refuse to swear an oath to the Queen (a precondition for taking your seat).

But mostly because they oppose Westminster’s jurisdiction in Northern Ireland.

So it would be like if New Jersey wanted it's own country so they didn't send any senators or congressmen to session? Are their seats essentially null?

True, but if the oath was removed they would probably take the seat in situations where they had leverage to gain. They are obviously committed to a 32 county Irish Republic.

osbourne was going on about how nuneaton was one labour had to win to secure a majority in 2015, con hold doesnt mean much for the hung parliament/small con majority calculus

Perhaps if a significant minority of people in New Mexico wanted it to return to Mexico.

But yes, for tonight's purposes they are null. They effectively reduce the target by about 3.

The constant excuses on the BBC have been the highlight so far for me. Having an independent national broadcaster is a basic standard for any liberal country and hopefully with this result we can head back to that.

John wittingdale's stench will take a while to wash off.
