Ah, so that's why Teresa May won't debate him.

It doesn't remotely put you even in the hinterland of the category 'rich' though, especially in London and the south east.

If you put them in a room full of 100 random people from across the country then 97 of those people earn less.

If you put them in a room full of people from London that will change, but not by that much.

If there is is going to be any kind of redistribution, having someone who earns more than the other 97 seems an ok place to implement it.

If you're on £70k it won't change.
£80k and it'll cost you a coffee, cake and a paper each week - if you get starbucks and the mail then you'll be evading tax by proxy too!
04-21-2017 , 05:03 AM
And don't forget that there are legal tax breaks like pension contributions that mean the actual threshold will be higher than 70K
04-21-2017 , 05:11 AM
I thought we were all poker players here? WTF worrying about tax

In general, yes I agree the standard of language out there is poor. It should remind us the importance of political correctness in helping to shape a positive discourse when referring to oppressed groups which feeds a general climate of respect. Yes that's right Daily Mail readers (DieBitter I'm talking to you) I LOVE political correctness.
Huh don't read the daily mail.

I read the Guardian if i read anything. It's hilarious.

Wow your parroting of Daily Mail talking points must be one of those weird synchronicity things.

Tory election manifesto may drop 2015 pledge not to raise taxes
Chancellor Philip Hammond hints that party will need flexibility on taxes if it is re-elected to government in June.
It won't be the over £70k earners he'll hit hardest either.

Does anyone disagree that this will be the lowest election turnout ever?

Seems ripe for something unlikely happening.
04-21-2017 , 10:29 AM
Im really not sure what to think about turnout.

On the one hand there is Brexit fatigue, on the other hand people seem really motivated with all the **** that is going on.

Hopefully its just remainer cohort that stays home.

wat?

http://www.ukpolitical.info/Turnout45.htm

55% seems a possible reality.

Volatility will be high in that instance.

Fingers crossed that the remainers turnout in massive force - lest we forget a lot of Brexit voters, whilst still mad racists, feel lied to.

Should be a fun election.

People still hoping to remain?

Let it go.

Fortunately you're dying before me & us remainers - still hope that we'll take the **** out of our country!

Lol

If he thinks that a coaiition of Steptoe, Farron, Lucas and Krankie isn't going to drive ordinary voters straight into the arms of the Tories he's even more out of touch with the working class than I thought.

Corbyn has ruled out a coalition with the SNP (fair enough) but then there's literally 0% chance he'll form the next government. He's not going to get to be minority government in the instance labour get 260-280 sets when the Tories have more unless there's some lib dem promise to back Labour in this instance but I don't see it happening.
04-22-2017 , 04:23 AM
Yes because the SNP are Tory-lite. But political reality in the event of a hung parliament means that some kind of deal would need to be done, ie. a 'progressive alliance' or they can re-run the election which would be more likely in that event if Labour won't play with anyone.

More likely we'll see a repeat of 2010 in the event of a close race. But anybody making grand predictions at this point stands to be corrected.

Tories win, 80+ seats clear. IMO.
04-22-2017 , 05:20 AM
If I get good enough odds, I'll put a bet on 100+

Bully for you.
