And? Was he a terrorist or not? Don't leave us hanging.

well it was his first flight and he's straight out of aryan central casting so i can't really blame them.

we visit him once a month now.

edit:

I patriotically shudder in fear just looking into his eyes. That's straight up jihad right there.
12-20-2011 , 01:22 AM
Cute kid sir. Teach him about all the atrocities the government has done when he's old enough and he'll be alright imo.
12-20-2011 , 01:35 AM
You can just tell he's planning something devious. You can't blame TSA. They're just doing it for our protection.
12-20-2011 , 06:11 AM
If he really is evil enough one day he can hope to work for the TSA.

He's clearly not the greatest thinker, parading the fact he was "smuggling drugs" on twitter.

Already posted in the Ron Paul thread, but this deserves its place here.

From Ron Paul twitter:

My son @SenRandPaul being detained by TSA for refusing full body pat-down after anomaly in body scanner in Nashville. More details coming.

Yo Dawg, I heard you liked Government. So I put some Government up in your Government, so you can govern while you get governed.

I think Sen. Paul did win "Most Likely to be in a Terrorist Anti-Government Militia" in last year's senate superlatives, so it's not entirely far-fetched.

[Rand] PAUL: I'm not for profiling people on the color of their skin, or on their religion, but I would take into account where they've been traveling and perhaps, you might have to indirectly take into account whether or not they've been going to radical political speeches by religious leaders. It wouldn't be that they are Islamic. But if someone is attending speeches from someone who is promoting the violent overthrow of our government, that's really an offense that we should be going after -- they should be deported or put in prison.

Given who his dad palls around (ive not even googled his history with fringe nutters) with i think its completely reasonable that this guy doesnt get special treatment in his own opinion.

this is wayyy a better place for the rand paul thing than the ron paul thread BTW.

He wasn't detained. He was denied entry. TSA and security theater are terrible, but this is a non-story. Especially if he didn't have the good sense to have one of his staffers take a cellphone video of the "incident" while he protested loudly about his rights.

Which definition of detain are we using here? More importantly which definition of detain does the constitution mean?
01-23-2012 , 08:46 PM
"Am I free to go?"
"Yes, feel free to leave the way you came."

Then you are not being detained.

I didn't think that him having to wait on the security line at all would qualify as being "detained" for the purposes of this discussion, but my error I guess.

This stand-off apparently escalated to the point where Paul was cornered in a cubicle for a bit – that’s where the “detained” allegations come in.
fine then, although I'm not so sure the first definition doesn't meet the intent of the constitution.
