What a douche move by that rapper. I mean, **** the TSA, but why would you do that to potentially the only guy in the TSA who wouldn't have turned you in? What a fish.
He's clearly not the greatest thinker, parading the fact he was "smuggling drugs" on twitter.
Already posted in the Ron Paul thread, but this deserves its place here.
From Ron Paul twitter:
My son @SenRandPaul being detained by TSA for refusing full body pat-down after anomaly in body scanner in Nashville. More details coming.
I think Sen. Paul did win "Most Likely to be in a Terrorist Anti-Government Militia" in last year's senate superlatives, so it's not entirely far-fetched.
[Rand] PAUL: I'm not for profiling people on the color of their skin, or on their religion, but I would take into account where they've been traveling and perhaps, you might have to indirectly take into account whether or not they've been going to radical political speeches by religious leaders. It wouldn't be that they are Islamic. But if someone is attending speeches from someone who is promoting the violent overthrow of our government, that's really an offense that we should be going after -- they should be deported or put in prison.
Given who his dad palls around (ive not even googled his history with fringe nutters) with i think its completely reasonable that this guy doesnt get special treatment in his own opinion.
He wasn't detained. He was denied entry. TSA and security theater are terrible, but this is a non-story. Especially if he didn't have the good sense to have one of his staffers take a cellphone video of the "incident" while he protested loudly about his rights.

Which definition of detain are we using here? More importantly which definition of detain does the constitution mean?

I didn't think that him having to wait on the security line at all would qualify as being "detained" for the purposes of this discussion, but my error I guess.
