Whoa crazy, in related news did you guys see that Obama won the Nobel Prize AGAIN this year. Must be because he's keeping America so safe these days with all the groping.
"What do you want to do, get blown up by a goddamn Arab at 30,000 feet or we get to see your private parts? It's up to you, the ball's in your park," head of the TSA's scanning department, Rodney Schroeder, told CNN.

This statement would get you temp banned or at the minimum infracted by some mods on 2p2...

Reason: Which is not a bad thing,so I actually can't believe he said it
But I do find it funny that an attorney would take such an apathetic attitude toward something so obviously against the grain of the fourth ammendment.

Lol. Dude the scanner and the magnetometer at that security station are literally right next to each other. If you didn't want to be scanned you took a single step to the left and no one said boo. In fact the TSA guy was prompting some people to do just that since the throughput on the magnetometer is greater.
This really ought to be a joke, but I'm guessing it's not. TSA FTL.
K, Elliot. No one gives a **** about your experiment anyways. I mean, I haven't finished my STAT class yet, but I'm PRETTY sure a sample size of 6 compared to the total of 18 million flights a year, is slightly insignificant. Whatever point you think you're making is absolutely lost on me. According to some USA today article I saw today, a large portion of Americans are against the scanners.
I can't love this post enough. Soooooooooo much win.

Oh it gets better. On this trip to vegas the stations similarly had body scanners and magnetometers set up side by side. But the scanners were not in use at all. lol.

Its not like the list of airports that have these screeners is classified information. I would hope at least that the terrorists would be smart enough just to go to a city that doesn't have them so it should hardly matter if you can just change lines.
When Phoenix first got them it was only at one terminal even....ok, instead of blowing up a Southwest flight just pick Continental. Ez game.
“[Terrorists] are going to continue to probe the system and try to find a way through,” Napolitano said in an interview that aired Monday night on "Charlie Rose."
“I think the tighter we get on aviation, we have to also be thinking now about going on to mass transit or to trains or maritime. So, what do we need to be doing to strengthen our protections there?”
its a total dehumanization project they're working on
*I think its pretty audacious that in the midst of all this controversy, that Napolitano would say that trains/etc are next. But I guess I shouldn't be too surprised. They'll roll them out slowly in places outside of airports of course just like they've been doing within airports.

Not really. Operationally terrorists were going for grand political gestures by taking down airplanes. Now that has become more difficult ( or diminishing returns) they will go after easier less politically stunning targets like malls, trains, etc. The Bombay scenario will be the prototype for future manned attacks and unmanned attacks will be like the bomb in printer scenario.

I'm a little confused about this. You're saying you think DHS is justified in thinking about using scanners is places outside of airports?
