I began thinking to myself: Why should I go back to live in America if I have the choice to live some place else? The only reason would be because of family. But how often would I see them if I did move back? I mean no immediate reason comes to mind. What can I get in America that I couldn't get in Scotland or the UK in general? Maybe Brexit kicking in will make America more appealing by comparison. Who knows for sure?
There isn't anything. Aside from losing the votes of one of the good guys, if your mom/boyfriend have decided that country is more important than family, **** em. There are a ton of great places in the world to live.

If you can stand the cold, check out the Scandis. There is a reason they rate so highly on the quality of life scale every year

Attn Ohioans, the fun new game you can play at your local Meijer's is Find The Nazi:

As we reported Tuesday, a short, bald man who looked exactly like the publisher of The Daily Stormer, one of the biggest neo-Nazi websites in the world, was spotted buying protein powder in a grocery store outside Columbus, Ohio, two weeks ago.

This was bad news for Anglin, who is currently embroiled in a federal court case in Montana in which his whereabouts matter a great deal. Anglin is arguing that he exists beyond the reach of federal litigation as a “stateless” person, an unusual legal category that applies to American citizens who live abroad with the intent to remain there indefinitely. In July, Anglin managed to troll CNN into publishing that he lives in Lagos, Nigeria. Amazingly, that’s what he and his lawyers were going with in court.

I think the Trumps' singing of "White Christmas" has a completely different meaning than it does to you and me.

I am originally from the part of the country that voted Michele Bachmann in several times. I don't go back very often any more.

Nah they haven't made that choice. I'm not close to the boyfriend at all and am happy about that. We were never close and thankfully never will be.

I do absentee balloting but I'm registered in NY. My vote is mostly symbolic.

Anyway, Scotland is cold enough for me. Got a bunch of winter accessories to compensate for what I didn't bring when I moved there.

Something all those stories paper over is that Anglin's father accepts mail for him, bought him a car, etc. But he also runs a local "Christian" counseling service, and owns a lot of land. He, unlike his son, has visibility in the community.

I'm not making a "lol economic anxiety" joke here, I'm wondering why nobody seems to connect the dots and realize the dad is also a Nazi.

Clearly, like, um, uh, liberal, err, clothing manufacturers, yeah that’s it, they’re claiming sizes are larger to, like, I dunno, fat shame the president maybe?

This might just be a fill in the blanks conspiracy for now. We'll figure out the real insidious reason after we get people upset about it!

I've found the opposite anyway. Sizes have gotten bigger and I buy a smaller size than I used to.. Also, they don't charge by the size so how does this help them?
12-27-2017 , 07:01 PM
Women who need larger sizes definitely pay more. I will sometimes need a 3x for a shirt and those are usually more.

i've found that older people tend to get fatter as they age

Guess there's a great irony here when scientists are trying to stop global warming from killing off humanity, other ones are actually going to beat global warming to it, when a lethal virus escapes and causes a pandemic.

Morons gonna kill us all.
Lol, this is the plot for "The Stand."

There's something wrong with profiling somebody for light searches at border crossings based on them being known to have transported a large sum of cash? It's not like you were profiled because you were a minority.

I think clothing has actually gotten larger over time, as Americans have gotten fatter.

No, I was just replying to the other American who gets searched all the time when he comes back to the US that there could be reasons associated with poker.

Maybe I'm crazy but I see a problem with repeatedly searching someone just because they were carrying cash once.

Yes.

When I was a lol 3/6 limit grinder in Detroit like 13 years ago I used to play in Canada a lot as it was the nicest local room. I got drug dogged like every damn time. Apparently there is something suspicious about young guys going solo across the border at weird hours with nothing but a stack of cash.

This one isnt on Trump. You can thank 9/11 for the current border situation. Prior to 9/11 I was onced asked "Is there anything in the car?" I hesitated, answered no, and was waved on through.
12-28-2017 , 09:15 PM
Koss' post is correct, but you can even remove the cash requirement. Have had my car tossed every time I've driven back in from Canada on solo hiking/backpacking trips. When asked why, they just gave the "random inspection" excuse and claimed they didn't screen border crossers. No experience pre-9/11 though.
12-28-2017 , 11:06 PM
For me, these "random" searches and interrogations started happening in 2016. Not sure what change in policy led to this or if they added some names to some watch list or some **** like that. It's not knowing why this is happening that makes this even more bothersome.

The whole thing is weird. Anytime I'm taken to a screening area on my way to/from America, I'm the only American being searched. It's me and a bunch of tourists whose week in NYC was ruined by some douchebag strongarming countries into doing unnecessary searches and blatantly invading the privacy of innocent civilians.

I mean you know things are ****ed up when I'm more nervous flying into my own country than I am flying into China.
12-28-2017 , 11:06 PM
You can get the pre-9/11 experience just by going the other way.

There's this thing it's called TSA Pre for as little as $100 you can remove the fear of flying for 5 years and it works every time.
