Do you have any links about different sources of air, water pollution and greenhouse gases?

I mean if there's a really egregious power plant - reducing consumer demand is great - but shouldn't we also demand a cleaner power plant?
It's not hard to google a lot of the facts, but I don't see any one great breakdown that covers types of emitter along with the type of user all in the same place. As far as clean power plants go, electrical production is responsible for 29% of CO2 emission in the US. So, yeah, there should be cleaner plants (wind and solar obv), but that's only part of the picture and any individual could cut their own emissions by using less energy and consuming fewer things and/or things that require less energy to produce.

And as far as demanding goes, there is more than one way to do that. You can vote for people who you think will require it or, in your utility you can elect to purchase renewable energy at a slightly higher cost.

Rupert Murdoch, owner of fox news, noted climate change denier

His winery/estate is on fire.

Don't worry firefighters are desperately trying to save it instead of people's lives out there in those CA wildfires.

Six firefighters and three helicopter drops to save 0 lives. Man, rich people.

He also gave his thoughts and prayers to his neighbors who probably had everything burn down because they weren't saving them.

Representative Bradford, look, I'm a heterosexual," Metcalfe interrupted. "I have a wife, I love my wife. I don’t like men, as you might. But stop touching me all the time."

"Like, if you want to touch somebody, you have people on your side of the aisle that might like it," he added as Bradford, a Democrat whose district is outside Philadelphia, laughed. "I don't."

I really want to get into that conversation with him at some point. I can't believe he is doing anything other than following family tradition based on how empathic he is in every situation. He also is smarter than average. Fwiw since they went home they are buying organic food and recycling and I am 100% that is an unintended influence from staying with us.

So uh, this is happening:

"The Trump administration has scrapped an Obama-era proposal requiring airlines and ticket agencies to disclose baggage fees as soon as passengers start the process of buying a ticket."

http://thehill.com/policy/transporta...es-to-disclose

In case it wasn't apparent before, he really is just going down a list of things that Obama did and dialing it back.

Is there any possible argument as to why this is a good thing to roll back?

Sounds a lot like this:

ISP disclosures about data caps and fees eliminated by net neutrality repeal

Quote:
Hidden fees that show up on broadband bills after customers sign up for service have long been a source of frustration for Internet users.

Because advertised prices often don't reflect the full cost of service, the Federal Communications Commission in 2015 forced ISPs to be more transparent with customers about hidden fees and the consequences of exceeding data caps. The new requirements were part of the net neutrality rules—and are therefore going to be eliminated when the FCC votes to repeal the rules next week.

While FCC Chairman Ajit Pai is proposing to keep some of the commission's existing disclosure rules and to impose some new disclosure requirements, ISPs won't have to tell consumers exactly what everything will cost when they sign up for service.

Whiny libs ruining Christmas. What’s the fun of office Christmas parties if you can’t get totally drunk and pounce on girls unexpectedly?

“Is the #MeToo movement becoming a spoiler for this season’s Christmas parties?” Ingraham asked Friday evening during a segment on Fox News’ The Ingraham Angle.
Speaking with comedian Jimmy Failla, Ingraham said she was worried that women who feel empowered to report sexual misconduct might ruin the holiday season by making office Christmas parties less festive.
“I can see this year it might be — a little less festive, let’s say that. No alcohol and no fun and no lampshades and, I don’t know, maybe that’s better,” she said.

a little less.... festive

Can't say Merry Christmas, can't put up nativity scenes, can't sexually assault women...libs just will not stop the goddamn war on Christmas.

The authentic fantasies of suffering that fuel Trump’s nationalism
Last week, President Trump retweeted three videos originally posted by the extremist British politician Jayda Fransen. All three videos purport to show Muslim attackers violating innocent victims.

Amid the backlash against Trump’s promotion of these videos, it quickly became apparent that one of the clips was presented under false pretenses. The alleged “Muslim migrant” attacker was neither Muslim nor a migrant, according to multiple reports from the Netherlands, where the video originated.

When reporters asked White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders about the false attribution, she replied, “I’m not talking about the nature of the video. I think you’re focusing on the wrong thing. The threat is real, and that’s what the president is talking about.” Even for an administration that operates by issuing a stream of lies and shifting claims, the defense was unusually forthright: the purpose of the deception was to show an allegedly deeper reality.

...

For nationalists, fantasy was not the opposite of reality, but a more perfectly realized ideal. Fantasy referred to the ability to reimagine something, to pierce through the veil of superficial issues to reveal an “authentic” essence of the event whose sensationalism conveyed the true stakes of the danger.

...

Slobodan Milosevic’s staging of the Battle of Kosovo in 1989 turned the 600th anniversary of the Serbian defeat by the Ottomans into rallying ground for fresh nationalist mobilization. Invoking the rhetoric of “revenge against the Turks,” Milosevic and fellow war criminals like Ratko Mladic then led genocidal campaigns against Bosnian Muslims in the 1990s.

Trump’s staging of different battles — real and imagined — could be just as dangerous. This may sound alarmist to some Americans who still believe that Trump’s relentless endorsements of hateful fantasies will pass and things will somehow return to normal. History offers little support for such blind optimism — but it also gives us cause to resist rising nationalism at every step, from the Balkans to the United States.

Nationalism is by far the most dangerous political ideology in human history. It's the bedrock on which both communism and fascism rested. I once read a giant History of the 20th Century book. I've forgotten most of it, but my takeaway from it was that the 20th century could be summarized as the century of nationalism.

Rep. Louie Gohmert: Hillary Clinton Would Have Used Supreme Court To Destroy Christians
“If Hillary were elected and then she replaces [Antonin] Scalia with someone who has contempt for the God we know rules the universe, and our freedom of religion would have been gone. They consider Christians a hate group, even though it’s the one true religion based on ‘God so loved the world he gave his son. His son so loved the world he gave his life,’ and they have turned that upside down. They were going to be coming after Christians with the help of then a 5-4 Supreme Court,” Gohmert said.

Clinton’s persecution of Christians may have even landed him in jail, he said he told his wife.

Gohmert said, “So on election night I said, ‘But if on the off-chance Hillary wins, sweetheart, you need to be ready. They’ll probably have me in jail within four years,’ and I wasn’t kidding. I really believed that if she had won, my freedom was at stake because of my Christian beliefs.”
