It's not hard to google a lot of the facts, but I don't see any one great breakdown that covers types of emitter along with the type of user all in the same place. As far as clean power plants go, electrical production is responsible for 29% of CO2 emission in the US. So, yeah, there should be cleaner plants (wind and solar obv), but that's only part of the picture and any individual could cut their own emissions by using less energy and consuming fewer things and/or things that require less energy to produce.
And as far as demanding goes, there is more than one way to do that. You can vote for people who you think will require it or, in your utility you can elect to purchase renewable energy at a slightly higher cost.
