the various peoples of the world have a long history of ethnocide/subjugation; it is by no means a uniquely European phenomenon (the White Devil trope)

the problem for the Euro's is the hypocrisy thereby evinced when laying claim to moral cultural superiority

it is a continuing problem because this exact claim continues to be used to justify various domestic immigration and foreign military policies by the contemporary Right, who, when confronted with their hypocrisy, will not abandon their claims of moral principle but will change the subject/goalposts

If only instead of denying the rape of Nanking the Japanese came right out and said they did it and they are glad they did it, there would be no objections.

When the Japanese were raping and killing millions of people in China they were simultaneously claiming that they were trying to make a Heaven on Earth for the Chinese people, and that wasn't just PR for outsiders, but meant for internal consumption. There's nothing uniquely western about either the subjugation or the hypocrisy. The hypocrisy is bad, but it's something of a dim beacon of hope that subterfuge is necessary. The masses may not ask too many questions about flimsy stories, but at least there's some desire to be decent that has to be assuaged.

Genocide/subjugation of natives + free/low cost labor = economic juggernaut. It's a Euro specialty.
And China right now does it to North Korea and Southeast Asia. Poor Bangladeshis and Pakistanis are free/low cost labor for all the wealthier areas in South Asia and the Middle East.

If we're still talking about the investor dude, the problem is not that he's wrong that genocide, subjugation and exploitation are at the root of most or maybe all of the relative wealth in the world, it's that he's happy about it.

When talking about Kaepernick's performance most people also ignore how utterly terrible the 49ers O-Line was and is. If there is a defender in your face immediately after the snap, yeah, your stats aren't going to look great. A less mobile QB would have done even worse.

Seems like a mobile QB becomes important for teams with bad O lines. Which teams have bad O Lines?

GM made it pretty clear that Hundley is their man but that getting a third string QB was not out of the question.

Your typical Trump supporter (a.k.a. my mother) believes this meme to be true, assuming that she wouldn't share anything she doesn't believe it.

Deplorables are beyond hope. I mean this might one of the most obvious PS jobs I've ever seen. Who makes faces like those upon receiving a Presidential award?

Weinstein and Weiner shops are not good at all. Right side of Cosby's face has a prominent line. Clinton shop (if it is one) is good.

Weinstein one is grafted onto a guy like 100lbs smaller.

edit: Did not see your edit.

Lower left is supposed to be Tom Hanks. Upper right is Joe Biden.

As for Cosby:

HHS is refusing to allow a 17 year old undocumented immigrant being held in Texas who wants an abortion to get one

Quote:
Known as “Jane Doe” in federal court, the teenager is one of thousands of unaccompanied minors who have crossed the border illegally. She is being held in South Texas and has permission from a state judge to have an abortion, but she says federal officials refuse to transport her to a clinic.

“It’s unprecedented, it’s unconstitutional, and it’s also unconscionable,” said Brigitte Amiri, a senior ACLU staff lawyer and attorney for the girl, who filed suit through her court-appointed guardian. “Blocking access to abortion for unaccompanied minors is downright cruel.”

The ACLU alleges that federal employees in Texas went as far as to visit the girl to talk her out of the procedure and took her to a Christian “crisis pregnancy center,” where she allegedly received an ultrasound against her will.
Quote:
The Department of Health and Human Services, which is responsible for caring for detained unaccompanied minors, said this week that “there is no constitutional right” for an immigrant minor to get an elective abortion while in federal custody. Officials said they are required to care for immigrant children and teens through the program, including an “unborn baby.”

While I'm not an expert on what a Russian troll account looks like on Twitter, that reply account looks pretty much exactly like what I'd expect to see in one.
- October 2017 join date
- a billion hashtags in description about hot-button issues to conservatives (2A, NFL anthem stuff)
- endless retweets of garbage conservative media

I mean I'm sure there are tons of losers that engage in this stuff and everything, but you can scroll down like 3 pages in this "mom from Mississippi"'s feed and it's still retweets from the last 24 hours, lol come on.

How is Twitter so bad at stopping their platform from becoming a garbage bot-filled wasteland?

Roy Moore: Kneeling during the national anthem is BREAKING THE LAW

Quote:
Roy Moore, Alabama's Republican nominee for the U.S. Senate, said NFL players who kneel during the national anthem are breaking the law.

“It's against the law, you know that?” Moore said in an interview with Time magazine. “It was an act of Congress that every man stand and put their hand over their heart. That's the law.”

Moore, a former chief justice of Alabama who was twice suspended from the bench for defying judicial orders, argued that a section of the U.S. Code — 36-USC-301 — forbids professional athletes from taking a knee during the national anthem.

The section does not specify legal penalties.

“It's not clear to me that 36-USC-301 was ever meant to be legally binding — it says what people 'should' do rather than what they 'shall' or 'must' do,” Eugene Volokh, a law professor at the UCLA School of Law, told CBS News.

Army institutes delays for legal permanent residents to start basic training in the Army and completely stops enlistment of foreigners into Army Reserve

Quote:
The U.S. Army has stopped enlisting some immigrants who are legal permanent residents while mandating lengthy delays for others, part of a controversial effort across the military to tighten security in the ranks by subjecting foreign-born recruits to tougher background checks.

Implemented late last week, the new policy halts indefinitely all enlistments involving green-card holders seeking to join the Army Reserve and National Guard, which is a part-time military service commitment. Green-card holders seeking to become full-time soldiers remain eligible to enlist in the active-duty Army, but they are no longer allowed to start basic training before their background checks are complete — a process that could take a year or more.

The Pentagon defends this and related measures implemented in recent months, claiming they’re necessary to prevent terrorists and foreign agents from infiltrating the American military.
