Sorta curious how my pro-Trump co-worker who is a Vietnamese refugee is gonna take this:

well, sounds like you'd better ask him pretty quick

According to this website 800.000 Vietnamese people had migrated to the US by 1995.

if I understand this correctly, this „only“ affects people who haven’t become citizens. Does anyone have an idea how big that group might be? Deporting hundreds of thousands of people across an ocean seems like kind of an organizational nightmare, even if you considered it desirable.

per the Atlantic article, the deportations would be limited to those who have been convicted of certain crimes

what the article does not specify is exactly what types of crimes we're talking about

fun fact: you can be deported for a conviction of misdemeanor "giving false name, date of birth, or address to law enforcement", or of misdemeanor petty theft regardless of the value of the item taken -- dangerous criminal aliens

but when Flynn lies to the FBI and Manafort defrauds the IRS, they're just "procedural crimes".

They said they were only rounding up criminal latinos at first too.

Big question is - are they really that dumb to not realize how many conservative Vietnamese-Americans still support them? What's next - Cuban-Americans?

A sixth-grader named Trump has been bullied so much he’d like a new name
An 11-year-old who shares a last name with the president has been punched and bullied at school because of his name, news outlets reported this week.

Megan Trump Berto told reporters this week that children at Talley Middle School in Wilmington, Del., were making life difficult for her son, Joshua.

“They curse at him, they call him an idiot, they call him stupid,” she told ABC affiliate WPVI.

...

“He said he hates himself, and he hates his last name, and he feels sad all the time, and he doesn’t want to live feeling like that anymore, and as a parent that’s scary,” Joshua’s mother told WPVI.

Based on having two last names, it seems that the family uses Spanish naming customs. So one parent is (presumably) white and the other Hispanic.

Being a mixed race kid with the last name Trump has to ****ing suck.

Thing about the boat people is most of them live in California, so it's no big loss to Republicans if they get deported en masse. No way they pull this stunt with Cubans.

But still, this is a big heads-up to wil and any other minority who thought they might qualify as honorary white guys: when all is said and done Steven Miller and the rest of the deplorables don't want you in this country no matter how hard you go at Serena Williams and stan for white supremacy. Vietnamese refugees are some of the most patriotic Americans you'll ever find anywhere and Trump has no problem casually tossing them out.

Very large Vietnamese population in Texas, also.

Truth is, the Vietnamese deplorables I know are the same as any others. Racist, selfish, hypocritical and won’t care until it affects them directly.

The GOP used to be able to count on Muslim-Americans and Latinos to a large degree. Not any more. Things change fast when they turn on a minority group.

Long but amazing post that I read a couple times a year: http://www.ranyontheroyals.com/2012/...op-and-me.html

Quote:
In the 2000 election, approximately 70% of Muslims in America voted for Bush; among non-African-American Muslims, the ratio was over 80%.

Four years later, Bush’s share of the vote among Muslims was 4%.

Last night I pulled up youtube to watch, of all things, a Run the Jewels video, and the 30 second advertisement before it was for FAIR - some anti-immigration racket.

The ad was basically a picture of a rural countryside with a 2 lane highway and a single car on it, with text saying "your commute now", and then a picture of a 6 lane highway with bumper to bumper traffic, with text saying "your commute with immigration". Like - kudos to them for keying in on my greatest white guy grievance, but wow they're really grasping at straws.

That's what well-off white people who hate immigration complain about. Immigration doesn't negatively affect them in any other practical manner.

from traffic to trafficking

YouTube knew you were a white guy because you listen to Run The Jewels, so it decided to send you a targeted white guy grievance ad.

Some bbq chips and a carpal tunnel ball to ease the pain from all of my slacktivist posting would have been more effective, but the technology will catch up some day.

Goddamn that's sick. Mother****ers.

That might actually be the most evil think the Trump administration has ever done.

And I realize how much ground that list covers.

Reigning champion of evil is still forcibly separating families at the border, but you can tell they're trying hard to get worse.

Scott Adams, glorious imbecile that he is, thinks Google is out to get him because someone googlebombed him with images of him photoshopped into Nazi attire. The replies to this are priceless. God these people are so dumb.
12-13-2018 , 08:44 PM
Scott Adams in 3 days time: I was running an experiment designed to demonstrate the power of persuasion, did you fall for it?
12-13-2018 , 09:50 PM
Oh God, it's the Ben Garrison trolling campaign all over again.

You know what would've stopped this?

Spoiler:
A good 2 year old with a gun

Will never understand. Two children get seriously injured and the reaction is "well guess we have an omnipotent being to thank for not letting it get any worse".
