ITT: People drawing silly conclusions.

Stop trying to figure out why 2+2 politics is special. Twoplustwo.com pulled from the same general pool as Fires of Heaven, but careful moderation over the years led you to where it is today. It's just that simple.

ElliotR got enormous amounts of work done, and Wookie tries his best to carry that torch.

Video games don't create deplorables, and deplorables aren't any more or less likely to play MMOs. If 30 of you raided and started duplicating the posting style and content of 2+2 on a FOH politics forum, they'd run you out of town just as fast as you'd ban them if they came here.

I'm still here because I don't take the hate personally and thus don't lash out enough to get permabanned. I generally like and respect a majority of you and would be happy to join the 2+2 raiding team and crush the meters for the crew. I know how to keep political discussion out of gaming activities, my Steam icon notwithstanding.

LOL at trying to create your own cool kids club on another forum website though. This isn't echo-chambery enough for you? You'd be bored out of your mind elsewhere. Flavor, no matter how mild, is what keeps things interesting. I can assure you the extra 3 cents a year your personal browsing habits earn Mason isn't worth worrying about.

A few of the most successful and non-deplorable people I know were guys I met playing Everquest in 1999-2001.

This is the guy who rage quit the forum for two years because Obama got reelected.

I know the politics forum is prone to hyperbole, but I swear there is no exaggeration whatsoever in this statement: that is the worst, most toolish Steam avatar I have ever seen, and I have seen a lot in the hundreds of hours of multiplayer Rocket League I've racked up. People with pictures of Hillary or Trump pale to the terribleness that is having a boring pun in an earnest endorsement for voting Republican as a gaming avatar. That is embarrassing.

St. Andrew's Episcopal School and more than 100 schools in Maryland and the Washington area on Wednesday signed an open letter calling on Barron Trump's father, Republican President Donald Trump, and Congress to support gun control measures and to reject arming teachers. The White House has proposed arming educators.

Two theories:
- maybe Dota2 has way dumber people playing it on average that make the icons dumber too
- maybe it displays smaller in-game so people can't actually read how idiotic it is

For games with in-game sprays, the "no" symbol actually flashes, too. That upgrade took a while to figure out. Animated sprays were not a trivial task back in the day. You're clearly letting your personal feelings get in the way here.
