What percentage of these suddenly woke voters do you think will still vote for Trump in 2020?

Just picking on the last tweet in that image ...

Huge outpouring of sympathy in reply ... well maybe not

The other reason was white supremacy and Donny's been doing better than expected there, so he'll get Dee's vote again next time

Leopard face-eating stories are the best stories.

This made my day, ty.

Fast forward to Nov 2020: "...but I just can't vote for the party that wants to kill babies during childbirth"

Lol the leopard didn't eat their faces. They are the leopards, really leeches, eating away at us. These people put an unhinged moron bigot in the most powerful position on earth for an extra 2% of their already comfortable take home income and they're salty now that instead they ended up losing 0.5%. Their faces remain intact. It is still poors and immigrants being devoured.

Overall the middle income quintiles are getting most of the tax cut dollars but there was never enough to go around. If you live in a high tax state (not surprisingly, blue), you probably got ****ed.

I honestly think they are getting a bargain here. Do you have any idea how much it costs to stuff toddlers into dog kennels on the black market?

This is painting a very biased and inaccurate picture. Corporations and billionaires are saving MILLIONS, they just aren't tweeting about it. Not everyone is suffering!

That’s not how income tax works.

He's referring to changes in SALT deductions? I'm not sure which part you're referring to.

Just dropped off my stuff with my accountant - asked him if he was having any complaints so far.

Said that one of his clients works as an independent contractor long haul trucker (so I'd assume 90% likely a Trumpkin) who found out 30k of expenses he has always been able to write off don't qualify anymore, bumping him up by 8k or so on what he owes. He was less than happy.

I'd guess it's going to be a bigger story as we edge towards Apr. 15th.

lol dumb people

I mean, I get that it shouldn't be as hard to figure out your tax burden as it is currently, but common sense should dictate that if you took more home every week that meant less was going to the IRS to cover your tax nut.

He'll promise a "fix" for 2020 and Dee Nelson will vote to keep losing $400/year as she rethinks her decision for 2024.

It actually is how the TJCA works. Elimination of SALT deduction disproportionately hurts blue state taxpayers. It's not even the only thing in the bill targeting blue states. Elimination of personal exemption and limitation on mortgage interest deduction were also seemingly designed with cutoffs to screw over owners of higher priced properties (not surprisingly, blue states).

Even on the corporate side, the big revenue raisers (GILTI for example) were all designed with attacking industries based in coastal states in mind. I'm not saying those firms shouldn't be taxed, I am saying they were singled out by the GOP bill as targets.

There is absolutely no question the GOP designed the TCJA to screw over blue states and concentrate as much of the benefits in red states as possible.

You thought your jet ski dealership was gonna save you when you yanked that ladder up behind you. Now the billionaires above you are pulling and the ladder is disappearing upwards.

The Republicans or at least the Russian agents that support them will just bombard Facebook or whatever with a million stories about stupid overpaid IRS bureaucrats making errors calculating taxes and how Trump is going to fix it if they re-elect them. You can "I told you so" them all you want, but I bet they're still not at the point where they're ready to actually accept reality. They'll accept a lie first.

It's a good thing no one gets raises any more. That might confuse the issue a little.

Of course, if they were Trump voters in red states, they probably couldn't have taken their family to McDonalds with the $10 or $20 they would have saved either.
This can happen for sure - but I think a funnier explanation is that the standard withholding changed so everyone's paychecks got a little bigger, with the cost of having a smaller refund come tax time, because derp, you overpaid by less.

I think a lot of the screeching can be explained by this.

These deplorables will be more than happy to vote for Trump again when they somehow find a way to blame this tax hike on Democrats.

I mean these ****ers got their healthcare taken away from them and didn't bother to think about opposing Trump then. To them paying a few hundred more is the price to pay for MAGA!!
