Is the Trump Economy Good for Poker? Is the Trump Economy Good for Poker?

Republican's have been abusing the Postal Service and trying to make them fail for twenty years. You would think Amazon would get an award here or something.

The fate of the Republic literally depends on Bezos being willing to absorb billions in losses by not reining in WaPo. The rest of the Amazon stockholders certainly aren't.

What's interesting is that the Postal Service has been running adds on Fox touting the fact that they are America's number one parcel delivery service. Maybe Trump doesn't watch the commercials.

I'd expect him to be up for a fight. Amazon is a big company, they'll survive this. He personally is the richest person in the world and very secure in his positions as Chairman and CEO. He must ****ing hate Trump at this point.

I lost 6 BI playing poker tonight so NO, the Trump economy is HORRIBLE for poker. Thanks a lot, Mason!

If the USPS ends up cutting its deal with Amazon I would increase the price of Prime memberships by someone nominal amount, say $5-$10, and then make a VERY public spectacle of blaming it on Trump.

Stocks Drop on Growing Trade Concerns
The Dow Jones Industrial Average tumbled more than 550 points as growing tensions between the U.S. and China exacerbated investors’ fears of an all-out trade war between the world’s largest economies.

All 11 major sectors of the S&P 500 declined, as investors broadly sold stocks, with the deepest declines among companies that stand to suffer from an escalation in protectionist trade policies, such as big industrial manufacturers like Boeing and Caterpillar.

If everyone stops wasting their hard earned cash in the stock market just think about how the games are going to boom.
04-06-2018 , 05:59 PM
oh that's interesting. you're saying trump may be purposely tanking the "real" economy, forcing people to sell their investments, thus freeing up cash to play poker with. brilliant!

Maybe poker players will be on life tilt after losing their life savings in the market, therefore making games great again. #MAGA

Maybe poker players will care less and be looser with their money, the closer we get to nuclear war, therefore making games great again. #MAGA

Maybe poker players will make more crying calls, as they shed tears for the state of our democracy, therefore making games great again. #MAGA

I was down around £200 at one point last night but fought back to finish the night up £125 so thanks trump! Even the uk poker economy is benefiting from your inspired leadership.

Yeah but what of the bangers and mash?
04-08-2018 , 05:48 PM
my favorite part of the trump economy is trump personally announcing a trade war and then his advisors deny there's a trade war and republican senators publicly announce that they hope he's just throwing yet another childish fit

but how that's supposed to be good for poker is beyond my understanding
04-08-2018 , 05:56 PM
lol everybody knows trade wars are good and easy to win!

While I buy the argument for No. 2, it's a gamble and certainly is not a sure thing.
CBO predicts that Trump's tax bill and increased spending will blow the deficit to over $1 trillion in 2020, as expanded economic growth won't come even close to covering the deficit hole

The tax overhaul, which includes permanent tax cuts for corporations and temporary ones for individuals, will increase the size of the economy by an average of 0.7 percent each year from 2018 to 2028, according to the budget office.

But that added economic growth does not come close to paying for the tax overhaul, which the budget office said would add more than $1.8 trillion to deficits over that period, from lost tax revenues and higher interest payments.
Hey, Mason, is this GOOD FOR POKER?

Wowww who could have seen that coming?

We'd save enough to order another aircraft carrier.

The stock market (and to a lesser extent crypto's) are definitely correlated with both Trump and poker. (Though I don't support Trump.)

cause a bunch of idiots with money like MM actually think Trump is doing good things for the economy
04-10-2018 , 11:11 AM
Opening up the deficit spending and tax cutting spigot is pretty good for GDP at least, though obviously little will trickle down. To get my Mason dunk in, that is the opposite of Mason's point.
