There are plenty who would use those words privately who still would be upset about them being used publicly. Most adults swear but would flip out if a teacher swore at a kid.

These same people probably think minorities would get shot by cops less if they just did what they were told.

Not sure where this goes since it's pretty standard, but Mike Lee has reintroduced the First Amendment Defense Act. As you might imagine, it defends the first amendment rights of Americans... to discriminate against gays and others with improper lifestyles.

I was talking to one of my friends on Facebook about the NRA suing Florida. I said the NRA is a domestic terrorist organization. Some guy that I don't know (he's my buddy's co-worker) threatened to kill me. We notified Facebook and the police. My buddy told his boss and showed what was said. That dude is getting fired on Monday lol. Facebook already shut down his account and apparently he's now bitching about his first amendment rights. Deplorables gonna deplorable. MAGA!

Imagine being so angry and furious you make a death threat to a stranger on Facebook. And this guy is in Idaho. I'm in Florida.

Out of the 200 comments, I could only find about half a dozen soft, whimpering defenses of the original hate message. Mostly in the vein of - "Wow you contacted authorities and the principal, why dont you be a REAL PARENT and talk to the kid's parents instead!" and concern trolling stuff like "Well, how do we know this actually happened and isn't a false accusation?"

The tone of the FB group is so typically bad I thought it would be mostly those types of messages but they were in the far, far minority. This gave me a bit of hope - that maybe some percentage of these remaining deplorables are truly hoodwinked or so blinded by librul hatred that they are willing to sacrifice their own morals to support a party that says they will achieve whatever their pet issue is. I know this is damning as hell and doesn't speak well to their character at all, but previously the viewpoint I had on the remaining ~30% of the country still in support of trump were they were mostly frothing out the mouth white supremacist types. From what I've been reading on this post, that just simply isn't true.

anyway, a dumb take from me I'm sure, but something I was encouraged by reading today.

to drill down on chesspain's point, is the black student popular and friends with that parents kids? is he a good athlete, or involved in some other notable extracurriculars? I would bet my life that he is not some downtrodden kid stuck in remedial classes tucked away out of sight.

they are not helping him out of some sense of fairness, its bc he means something to them personally.
