Russia is what the U.S. will be pretty soon. I mean the rich have built themselves up by stealing from the working class. Once the working class is bled dry, then they'll steal from upper-middle class, than upper class, then people in the 0.1% will steal from the 1% and so on until one person has full control of all resources or can easily gain control of whatever resources he/she doesn't have.

I think the flow of money in the whole system is an interesting subject there, but trying to tie that into particular presidents or even Dems v. Republicans muddies the water.

I don't think top execs think about party alignment when stealing from people. To them it's "They have money. Can I steal it without getting caught?"

The working class used to be Dems and the big shots who were often GOP stole from them. But now the working class party is the GOP so the GOP is now stealing from people who support them.

My mom and step-father are Trump voters. When I was young they were constantly broke and in arrears, but nonetheless always on the look for the dumbest possible get-rich quick scam. They would often consult me for financial advice on this stuff despite the fact that I was a 15 year old idiot who didn't even know what a bank was. The most memorable of these was the time that a co-worker tried to get my dad to join him in investing in - and I absolutely swear to you I am not making this up - ostrich eggs. Not shares in an endeavor or farm or anything like that, but the actual eggs themselves. There was a stack of pamphlets that they had me wade through, but the basic pitch was that eggs often turn into ostriches proper which in turn produce low fat meat that is sure to be the Next Big Thing. You can imagine how awkward it was for me to try to explain that putting all your eggs in one basket is the actual metaphor for poor financial planning.

If Trump threatened corporate power we'd see the end of the media's inexplicably positive coverage of his pivots and the gloves would come off on calling him senile

Wife of GOP attorney arrested in Virginia after having sex in a car with inmate and giving him goods to smuggle into jail

Quote:
Teresa Jo Burchfield, the wife of a prominent GOP lawyer who has served three presidents, was arrested on Tuesday for allegedly delivering contraband items to an inmate after the two had sex in a car outside the Fauquier County, Va., jail, according to county records.

Detectives arrested Burchfield after discovering her and a 23-year-old inmate in the back seat of a car parked in a lot next to the jail, the sheriff’s office said in a news release. The couple had been having sex, according to a criminal complaint filed at Fauquier County General District Court obtained by the Fauquier Times, which first reported the arrest.

During their parking-lot assignation, Burchfield had given the inmate — who was allowed outside because of his minimal sentence and status as a “trustee” — clothing, cigarettes and what detectives suspect are over-the-counter vitamin supplements, the sheriff’s office said. The McLean woman, 53, was charged with a class 1 misdemeanor.

On the upside, liberals in Florida were too dumb to evacuate. So this will have a cleansing effect.

BLM and Antifa in Miami are pissed that the track of the hurricane shifted to the west. Now they'll have to steal cars and drive to the west coast of FL to do their looting.

Which is worse - a cat 5 hurricane or having to sit through a speech by Hillary lecturing you on her vision for America?

Buses of BLM and Antifa thugs are heading south to Florida to get staged in position to begin their widespread looting.

Soon to be United States Senator from Alabama Roy Moore has never heard of DACA or the dreamers.

http://www.al.com/news/index.ssf/201...eading_ca.html

Quote:
And in a two-minute conversation with radio host Dale Jackson, Moore appeared to have no knowledge of what DACA is. Here's the conversation:

JACKSON: "Would you support an end to the Dreamer program that President Trump has still continued to push?

MOORE: "Pardon? The Dreamer program?"

JACKSON: "Yes Sir. The DACA/DAPA. You're not aware of what dreamers are?"

MOORE: "No."

JACKSON: "Dreamers are -- this is a big issue in the immigration debate. Dreamer are.."

MOORE: "Why don't you tell me what it is Dale, and quit beating around, and tell me what it is?"

JACKSON: "I'm in the process of doing that, Judge Moore."
How will the people of Alabama react to this stunning display of ignorance from a man who will very likely represent them on the national stage? Not to worry. The wonks assure us that they are overwhelmingly ill-informed rubes.

Quote:
But with less than three weeks to go before the Sept. 26 GOP runoff in Alabama's special Senate election, political observers believe the Moore's "DACA" gaffe won't resonate much with voters.

In fact, some of Alabama's political wonks self-admit they don't readily know what the acronym stands for - "Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals," let alone the typical state voter whom Moore is trying to woo at the ballot box.

"The average guy around Moulton, I bet that 95 percent of them don't know what DACA means," said Steve Flowers, author of 2015 book "Of Goats and Governors - Six Decades of Colorful Alabama Political Stories" which highlights some of the state's more memorable political gaffes.

"It just goes over the head of the average person," Flowers said.
So why vote for him at all?

Quote:
"(The DACA gaffe) shows his basic lack of knowledge about the Senate and the issues, but I don't think that is resonating with the average Alabamian that is voting for him," Flowers said. "He seems to have resilience. They understand the gay marriage issue and why he was kicked off the bench. That supersedes any national issue."

Said Stewart: "People seem to like or not like Moore for other reasons. I'm sure for those who shudder to think about having Moore represent this state in the U.S. Senate, it will reinforce their view that he is not qualified for the job. Those who support him will say, 'so what? He doesn't know all the acronyms the Washington swamp-dwellers use.'"
We don't cotton to your fancy big government acronyms round here. All we know is he smashed the gays, and that's reason enough.
09-10-2017 , 03:56 PM
It isn't even about acronyms. They ask him what he thinks about dreamers first and he doesn't know about them. That's quiet ridiculous. I remember reading two articles about Trump's decision using the term "dreamers" in German newspapers from last week.
I just googled it and all the major newspapers from left-wing to conservative have written about it. How you can run for the US Senate and not know about this, is beyond my power of understanding.

To be fair, the interview was in July before Trump's order made international headlines. But this has been a massive issue in the United States for years, and one of Roy Moore's main campaign planks is his hardline stance on illegal immigration. He has no excuse for not knowing.

I thought the cop might get in trouble for that one. But no. I guess a hot dog vendor is like a drug dealer to them and the cops just get their money. Well, better than drug dealers as there's no chance of fighting back. More like ATMs.
