The suspect in Wednesday night’s triple shooting in Olathe allegedly told a bartender in Clinton, Mo., before he was arrested that he had killed two Middle Eastern men, The Star has learned.

The suspect, Adam Purinton, a 51-year-old Olathe resident, was drinking at a bar in an Applebee’s in Clinton when he was arrested early Thursday, about five hours after the shooting, police said. The suspect reportedly told the bartender that he needed a place to hide out.
Quote:
At least one witness reportedly heard the suspect yell “get out of my country” shortly before shooting men he thought were Middle Eastern. Both men, engineers at Garmin, appear to be originally from India.

Wayne LaPierre at CPAC speaking directly to the responsible gun owners of America about the "violent left". It's long, but the wtf starts from the jump.

Can't even bring myself to listen to it because I know it's going to conclude with "more guns"

Another super villain irresponsibly fear mongering for personal gain. NRA totally on board with everything Trump, including all his un-American tactics.

Seems inevitable at this point that we will see harmless protestors gunned down and it will be a seminal moment in American history. Unfortunately this time I don't know if the majority will side with the protestors...

The majority didn't necessarily side with protesters in 1970 either. Four days after Kent State the Hard Hat Riots happened in NYC where construction workers ran wild attacking hippies.

Watch the John Lewis documentary. It will put this majority feeling in perspective.

Wildly popular Australian children's book author Mem Fox (who is also an Associate Professor of Literacy Studies and an Order of Australia recipient) was treated so poorly by border police at LAX that she cried in her hotel room afterwards and says she is unlikely to travel to the US again.

Quote:
She said the border agents appeared to have been given "turbocharged power" by an executive order signed by President Donald Trump to "humiliate and insult" a room full of people they detained to check visas.

"I have never in my life been spoken to with such insolence, treated with such disdain, with so many insults and with so much gratuitous impoliteness," Fox said.

"I'd hate not to go back to the states because it's been so good to me and Americans in general are not [like] the border police at LA airport."

She said the treatment of others in the airport holding room, including Iranians, Taiwanese and a Scandinavian parent with a small child, was just as poor, and all appeared to eventually have been released.
Fox, who is turning 71 shortly, has been to the US 116 times before.

While I haven't had anything like that, I have been treated impolitely at LAX and have heard stories from friends of impolite treatment there. Entering the country at SFO was a lot better, sample size of 1 though.

World renowned academic mistakenly detained as an "illegal alien"

These guys were mostly d*ckheads on a power trip before Trump took off the leash but it turns out they're pretty incompetent too.

Trump supporters happy that all you elitists who do things like go on aeroplanes are being given a hard time.

LAX is the worst. I'm an American living overseas and when I come home to visit I always get questioned about why I live where I live, what am I doing back, etc... Feeling like telling them to stfu and just chop my passport, none of their business.
Most recent visit was in Nov, the guys were actually pretty cool this time around but most shocking to me is the 3 immigration people were armed and looked like some roided out swat team guys. Just struck me as really strange.

I have flown to the US a few times (NY, LA, Chicago, Miami, San Diego, Boston, Las Vegas) and the treatment by immigrations officials was generally poor (Vegas is the exception where the treatment level reaches tolerable). Definitely the worst of any country I have been to. Low paid grunts on power trips. What are going to do? You just got off a 10-12h flight and all you want is get to your hotel. Give them lip and risk being refused entry? Then on subsequent trips you have to check the box for "previously refused entry" for super special treatment.
I told my girlfriend about some of the recently reported incidences at US airports and she said that she doesn't want to travel to the US in the foreseeable future.

In dealing with the Klan, I'm surprised no one there thought of this:

Gotta say my worst border experience was in the UK, but it was just that I happened to get a bad official. A super tilting and incoherent line of questioning that ended up with me getting given only like a 3 day visa. I was only passing through London on my way back to Australia anyway so idgaf.

A customer at an Irving Wal-Mart who complained "foreigners are living off of us good white working people" told a Hispanic employee that people like her should "go to your own countries" in a video circulating on social media.

The employee, who says she became a U.S. citizen 20 years ago after emigrating from El Salvador, said she began recording the video Thursday after the man said he wanted a white employee to assist him.
