tl;dr summary

Trump doesn't even know what Net Neutrality is, guys. This is Bannon, etc. convincing weak-minded "libertarians" that this is what true freedom looks like.

Well, I guess the best thing to hope for now is Google Fiber or whatever Amazon/Apple's internet ends up being is expanded across the country into every home. Drive ATT/Verizon/etc. out of business.

Google's already stopped any plans for rolling out more fiber AFAIK.

RIP states' rights

In addition to*ditching its own net neutrality rules, the Federal Communications Commission also plans to tell state and local governments that they cannot impose local laws regulating broadband service.

So we're possibly looking at something like this?

This really seems to be shaping up to be something that's going to blindside many people. I can't picture people like my parents (in their 60s but use the internet a lot) being on top of something like this.

Those are mobile plans.

While definitely what I think they will do because $$$$$; that tweet is total trash.

Portugal has net neutrality b/c it's part of the EU.

Thanks for clarifying, I obviously have some things to look up myself.

Their ****ery isn't going to be that blatant. Despite the nonsense people who against this spew the ISPs have pulled shenanigans in the past. They'll do it again and will be emboldened by this decision.

People seem to be at ease with this because the ISPs have been pretty hands off in the past even when they could get away with things. There are 2 problems:

1.) They are going to be able to get away with more under an administration that clearly doesn't care.

2.) Their other businesses(cable, landline phone, etc) are under massive threat they didn't face before and they are more incentivized to do shady things.

Guess the smart move is to power binge-watch The Flash and Supergirl before my Netflix gets throttled.

What are the chances NN gets the boot with all this resistance? I cant think of anything in the political realm that is more galvanizing and non partisan than this. Seems the only people not willing to grab a pitchfork are the ones who stand to profit from it and old people who dont use the internet.

My trumpkin brother in law is all in on the repeal. Not totally sure why, probably just because Obama did it.

I don't get it. What does he stand to gain? Bragging rights? Your internet is about to be ****ed guy. Doesn't he get what could happen?

This guy is such a ****ing doofus

11-22-2017 , 01:22 PM
How do you even pronounce his name?

A **** pie?
11-22-2017 , 01:23 PM
He cited Ajit's editorial on Facebook without comment except that he was happy about it, so, more freedom (to bilk customers) I guess.

Nope, American voters confirmed too ****ing stupid to even know what's going on and too lazy to do anything about it.

I'm honestly surprised that this is the glass the GOP wants to tap on. They should know better than to **** with the circuses.

the only coherent and fully embraced ideology of all trumpkins is opposing and pissing off liberals. so, he gains the satisfaction that liberals are gonna be mad.

Gonna guess "no" on that one. Part of why this **** keeps popping up and has to be smacked down is your average person has no ****ing idea what net neutrality is and if anything assumes that it's bad.

Netflix will be fine. They have deep pockets and consumers would revolt if an ISP throttled it. It's the startup Netflix that could be much better but will never come into existence now.

You don't remember the great "Obama is taking over the internet" propaganda push when this the laws went into place?
