Matty Yglesias pointed out that the poll that had Democrats dipping to +5 or something got lots of air time as a portend that Republicans are coming back, but this article cites the newest poll that has Democrats bouncing right back to +8 and zooms right by it to complain that Democrats have gone too far left.

That op-ed is basically saying "**** the will of the people. It's not what's best for the party. Therefore the election was bad."

**** that. What's best for the party is to accept the results and adjust their platform, not force it down our throats whether we like it or not.

Virginia may be the only state where being a centrist will help the dems win a presidential election, maybe Florida. Sure a centrist could do better in Connecticut, but that's no more relevant to the outcome than a progressive doing better in Hawaii.
