so maybe it was a problem, maybe not. depends on the laws and nuances and how often this happens.
Whataboutism. If the Republicans have a ****ty anti-democratic one dollar equals one vote system of selecting their nominee, the dems shouldn't copy it. But it's not really copying anything, the dems are just as bad in this respect.

And yes, it is that bad.

I'm not a R. I think Rs are worse than Ds.

Spoiler:
Forum D cheerleader tactic of labeling anyone to the left of them as an R, instance # 37894657893465

Forum D cheerleader offering an impassioned defense of corruption (when it's their team) is always one of the more hilarious things you can depend on round these parts.

The ACist here is the real liberal, lefties!

The highest honor you can achieve, of course, is your loyalty to your team. Issues be damned!
11-03-2017 , 05:45 PM
I thought the highest honor you can achieve is never posting about issues at all and just talking about how cool you are for not joining a team
11-03-2017 , 05:46 PM
Issue: Corruption is bad.
11-03-2017 , 08:22 PM
Sure, but is that the main issue here? Why was the DNC run so poorly it had to basically be sold to the clintons in the first place?
11-03-2017 , 10:06 PM
The funny thing about this whole issue is that, right now on CNN, there are Dems on a panel defending Hillary who sound exactly like Trump stooges on Fox have sounded while defending Trump against Russian allegations. Yes, they may be vastly different circumstances, but the tone of the discussions, and the excuses being used, are exactly the same. Which, if you are wondering why she may not have been a great candidate, the answer may be that the Clintons always seem to be immersed in discussions like this. Which, fairly or unfairly, probably hurt her credibility with voters.

I mean, sure, the GOP makes up a lot of stuff about Dems whoever is running. But with Obama, it was crazy stuff - he's a muslim who wasn't born in the US who created ISIS. But with Hillary, it all sounds crazy until her campaign spokesman has to appear on CNN and starts hemming and hawing about why this isn't a big deal while saying stuff that makes it seem like a big deal.

I mean, one guy literally said that the communications director for the DNC "was a minor position," which is the same way the GOPers on Fox were describing the Greek model UN guy. For the love of god, at least come up with a different line.

It’s almost been a year since the election, how many baseless impeachment votes would Rs have had already if they controlled congress under president Hillary?

Former Democratic National Committee head Donna Brazile writes in a new book that she seriously contemplated replacing Hillary Clinton as the party's 2016 presidential nominee with then-Vice President Biden in the aftermath of Clinton's fainting spell, in part because Clinton's campaign was "anemic" and had taken on "the odor of failure."

Yeah, after the fact, suddenly DB knew Hillary was going to lose and wept over Bernie not getting treated fairly. In the moment, of course, she helped funnel debate questions to Hillary.

Not wading into the Hillary/Bernie/DNC stuff but man, this is pretty WTF. What's next, Donna Brazile claims she was this close to retiring from politics after the 2000 campaign to invent a portable media player and multi-purpose pocket computer to compete with both the Sony Walkman and emerging personal digital assistant device market?

When you are one of those people who has been trying all your life to be well known and have only been slightly succeeding to the point where perhaps three out of a hundred people know who you are, it would have to be horrifying to realize that one negative act multiplies that number by five but turns the tiny fame into mild infamy. Joe Paterno for example. (Although his numbers were bigger). Or some of the recently accused gropers.

So if you are in that category and are one of the rare few who might have the opportunity to reverse that and be remembered for something perceived as good instead, the urge to do that would be overwhelming. The fact that you might have to fudge some facts or betray some friends would probably not dissuade you.

Frank Rich, as usual, nails it. Stop trying to win deplorables.

I was pretty hard on some people earlier this year who claimed that the primary was rigged against Bernie. I just wanted to say, you guys were totally right. The Democratic Party is an abomination and it must be completely destroyed. Reforming the Democratic Party is a completely dead end.

Nothing of what Donna Brazile did really should have earned her any genuine infamy though. "Helping funnel debate questions to Hillary" is like the Deflategate of politics, some minor transgression or incidence of scofflawing that is blown up and aggrandized into some Crime of the Century by Hillary's opponents. She was never going to be able to mythologize her way out of that guilt because her critics aren't sincere or well-meaning, so you can never win.

Obvious life mistake, you see it all the time. Don't try to satisfy your critics who have zero interest in treating you fairly.
