Texting voters Texting voters

I've been texting voters the last few days via the resistance labs, and this app called Hustle. It's amazing. Every time I feel frustrated about ****face von clownstick I text people instead of arguing on the internet.

https://resistancelabs.com/volunteer/

Getting set up is like 5-10 minutes of work. You just:
1) Register for an account
2) Read through the 4-5 training slides
3) Download the app
4) Start texting!

The people you text can’t call you and can only text you back through the app.

Kavanaugh is certainly front of mind right now. And an excellent reason to be furious. Beyond Kavanaugh I would say my top 3 are:

1) His racist and shameful policy of family separation
2) His looking weak, foolish, and subservient to Russia on the international stage
3) All the lying

And there are so many things I left off the list.

So far maybe 5-10% of people respond. Of those that respond I'd say they break down as:

Positive: 60%
No thanks: 30%
Who is this / how did you get my #: 5%
Trolling: 5%

Signed up for this and shot out a few texts this morning. I was pretty underwhelmed with the states and races that they were supporting... has there been a lot of turnover in the workflows since you signed up goofball? I just don't really see much of a point in sending out hundreds of texts to voters in South Carolina which doesn't even have a Senate race this year or Mississippi where there is zero chance of a progressive victory.

How do they make sure the volunteers stay "on message" and don't endorse Republican candidates?

There’s a TN one I’ve been focusing all my efforts on. There was a NV one a few days ago.

There’s a fair amount of turnover in the workflows, to see what’s available you have to go back to the signup form and do it as a current texter.

They don’t. You take the training and then just start. Doing it just to troll would be a pretty high effort low payoff troll Texting voters

"Poppy" has texted me twice about a local state house race. Both times came from different numbers.

If some ******* texts me off some app named Hustle about a candidate I'm certainly never voting for that candidate.

You definitely don’t seem like a childish and petty *******!

I'm also never switching to the phone company that calls me every night.

Even if they offer a better deal, **** em it's the principal.

did you want a trophy?

no one cares about your ironically detached too cool for school act. It's probably top 5 among the reasons trump won.

You're missing the point entirely.

It's a terrible way to communicate with potential voters because it's not effective.

Telemarketing is a filter that selects the biggest morons and weeds out anyone minimally intelligent. That's not how you want to select potential voters, unless you are campaigning for Trump or someone like him.

Naming your app Hustle is a way of scaring off any normal, reasonable person.

Also, frankly, texting random people is spamming, and if you do that, you're just an indefensible lowlife. No legit activity resorts to spamming because spamming alienates far more people than it draws in.

baca you seem chill
10-14-2018 , 11:23 AM
I would be if the phone would stop ringing unnecessarily.

I wonder if this a generational thing. I'm an unhip 50 yr old that ignored the first one of these I got and went full deplorable on the second. I don't like getting calls and especially texts from unknowns.

FYI there’s currently a Florida one active. Florida has a bunch of critical voting rights initiatives and a v close gov race

Maybe it is, but it seems to me guaranteed to alienate a lot more people than it brings in. As I said, in traditional telemarketing that's exactly the goal - to filter out the people with a brain who are a priori unlikely to switch phone companies (or whatever) over the phone based on a cold call - but in politics those people don't vote anyway.
