Your feeling would be wrong.

I notice they didn't mention their actual target demographic, the obese.

This could be a scene in se7en. Kevin Spacey super-glues a sock slider to one hand and a yoga tape to another, and forces the victim to make a grisly decision.

I mean, yes, the obese, but a lot of these sorts of products are for the disabled, this thing for sure. The Snuggie is the perfect product for people in a wheelchair.

As I've been explaining to a client over the last week, there are few bright lines. Question is whether the other guy will sue, and what's his risk tolerance. Estate of marvin gaye, i think, made bank suing over that Thicke song. Similar case v. Led Zeppelin crashed and burned. Also, gi joe and power rangers have a lot of unique elements. Copy those and you've created a derivative work, which constitute s infringement.

I don't care much for law and economics. It's fake precision that, among other things, has helped to ruin antitrust law, thanks to true believers like Bork.

The most interesting things I've read from Posner were epistemology, where he engaged academic literature and came down as a pragmatist. He would also use philosophy to criticize irrational zealots like Scalia when almost no other judge, and too few academics, would. In his departure statement he said he wanted to devote more efforts to "social justice." Pretty sure he just wanted to take a jab at conservatives and not be confused with one.

I was just reading an article that said that before WW2 world maps from the US tended to put the US in the center. During and immediately after WW2 when the US was working to build multinational relationships with Europe, particularly the general identity and recognition of the North Atlantic region, maps tended to either center on the middle of the Atlantic or divide the world more West and East with Alaska on one end and the "eastern" most point of Russia on the other.

This made me realize that while I've had this map of the world from 1861 on my wall for years, I've never even thought about the orientation of it. Crazy.

And that is not symmetric north-south either which ever further exaggerates the stuff from that West Wing clip. Africa is like 13 times bigger than Greenland and like 20% bigger than all of North America.

It's because Kenosha is fun to say. My workhorse was Topeka, KA until a friend hipped me to Billings, MO.

In my mind what I imagine Veritt to be sounds awesome so that's probably not what it actually is.

The story they're referring to is incredibly dumb (cliffs, some frat boy threw a banana peel into a tree, some POC saw it and assumed it was a lynching threat, university something something cracking down on politically incorrect fruit, obviously there are a lot of details left out), but if you google around you quickly find that there are only like four alt-right websites "reporting" on this story. There's literally nothing from any semi-reputable source about this.

one of these guys lectured me about how liberals just look for stuff to complain about. I asked him if that were the case why wasn't the liberal fake news media ALL OVER this story of a cis white male threatening to lynch POC, he then called me a bully.
One of the reasons why the Lestat crowd is full of it (e.g., the idea that if you're just nicer to deplorables and keep the social justice warriors quiet, angry whites will abandon right wing radicalism, return to sanity and become moderate Democrats) is anecdotes like these. These people actively seek out fringe stories of dubious veracity then get themselves in a lather frothing about it.

The whole argument is obviously a dumb charade to remove agency from angry whites but EVEN if you tried to do what Lestat types ask, you can't police fiction. There's an enormous cottage industry of right wing click bait sites exaggerating or outright imagining fictional cultural grievances for white people to jaw at and stew in anger over. There's innumerable ways you literally can't win playing this game but the fact that the left is literally supposed to fight back against the active imaginations of people who seem to revel in social justice warrior pulp fiction is near the top of list.

In b4 "well if Kaep wasn't kneeling during the anthem, we wouldn't have to make up all these other stories to show how deluded you are!!1!eleventy!"

Well, my old version of the 2+2 app seems finally to have given up the ghost. Just opens to a blank page. Man tapatalk is pretty obnoxious. So great to have live sex chat ads fill my screen as I scroll through the trump thread on the train to work.
