Trump asked project veritas to illegally infiltrate Columbia and obtain Obama's records to prove foreign citizenship

the only thing that somewhat surprises me about that is I didnt think Trump actually believed Obama was born in africa... I just thought he really hated him.

I'm expecting the Evangelicals to say they are okay with Orange and the porn star because Jesus was boning Mary Magdelane who was a prostitute and porn star of her time.

I;ve got not problem with some rich guy paying through the nose for sex with a porn star. I don't understand it, when the sex is probably just the same as what joe blow gets for a lot less, but I don't see anything wrong with it. It's sad that this is a scandal at all, when the guy just showed that he is a racist, xenophobic, nazi-inclined fool ... I suppose this was leaked by his own people to distract from the "****hole" remarks. What's scandalous is that anyone pays so much money for anything, and that he feels it necessary to cover it up - but the reason for putting it out there is to distract from his racism - because his people will secretly cheer him on for living out their fantasies and banging pornstars - and will use it to allow themselves not to think about what a nazi they are supporting.

Slight derail for a minute. For anyone not following Ted Lieu on twitter, I highly recommend it. Living in a state that produced the cancer that is Scott Pruitt (among others), I am jealous of you Californians for having him as a representative.

re: The Presidency of Donald J. Trump (aka David Dennison)

So, according to the friend of the Stormy lady, Trump was begging her to come up to the room and join in the fun. This would seem to make the pee tape story more likely, if not the actual tape. I believe someone said hookers were offered during the trip, but Trump, in his disciplined and gentlemanly way, turned them down. Hmmm.

Also, Trumps hack lawyers--the kind who threaten people without lawyers and do not do things like write briefs and conduct depositions--have apparently "resolved" many sexual entanglements for him. They keep their mouth shut and get paid. Trump has always respected and tried to emulate the mafia, and to conduct himself like a mafia don. (New nickname--Mafia Don).

In any event, i expect Mueller to strip the bark off Mafia Don (they have apparently disclosed that they possess 37 "electronic devices" relevant to the Manafort case--thats large continuing criminal enterprise type evidence), but I also expect that we'll be finding out new dirt for the next 20+ years. Some of his staffers will have valuable stories. And even the most loyal will talk once he's gone.

By the way, people seem to extrapolate from any given two day news cycle to the 2018 midterms. Well Manafort's trial is set for like May. Even if pushed back it will happen before Oct 2018. And Trump will likely be interviewed this month. I would expect a number of gop members to flip on Trump as events unfold and the primary filing deadlines pass. Not due to principles, just self-preservation. If I had $10k online and could bet it, I'd put it on a dem house a 1-2, and at least an impeachment vote prior to 2020. Even Bannon sees that.

re: The Presidency of Donald J. Trump (aka David Dennison)

So Trump has continued to broadly stay within the Iran nuclear deal for 'the last time', meaning he'll re-start all the sanctions in May unless it's re-written. He already threatened the deal months ago, calling on the other signatories to re-negotiate as well, which produced exactly no action apart from everyone else saying they were happy with it as is.

Here's a decent article on it, pointing out that of the 4 demands Trump wants in this new deal, 3 are already achieved and the 4th (which is about ballistic missiles) is currently self-imposed by Iran.

http://lobelog.com/trump-waives-iran...for-last-time/

It seems as if the current strategy with Iran is to create another North Korea style impasse, where the rhetoric ramps up and up with diplomacy ruled out, but actual meaningful military engagement would be a total disaster that only the genuinely insane would want. Given Iran's current lack of nuclear weapons I guess a bombing campaign against them is more feasible, but that would be unlikely to either topple the regime or improve the lives of any Iranians, so would be pointless outside of making some people feel good.

As ever I guess I should be wary of believing anything that Trump says, or that the US has any actual foreign policy strategy outside of 'talking tough' any more.

boring story. rich old **** pays for sex a decade before becoming president? wow. watching people online try to find an angle to attack him on this is just lol. something about the sanctity of marriage, something about 'can you imagine if obama...', something about evangelical hypocrisy...like ya, 90% of evangelicals are scum and don't care at all about the things they're supposed to believe in, of course they'll still support him.

the guy is a rapist, a crook, a fraud, a neo nazi supporting international embarassment whose brain is made of pudding. some extramarital consensual sex from 10 years ago is not a scandal.

Occasionally I do like to imagine the nuclear explosion that would have went off in the media if any one of Trump's scandals had happened to Obama.

Obama sleeping with a porn star 10 years before his presidency would have shut down the news for months. Jesus, fox News would STILL be talking about it.

Meh. In New York, at least, it's quite common for rich people to buy properties in cash using an LLC. I get the impression that a lot of financial advisers recommend it.

A lot of this is wrong.

First, there is no way that Trump's people released this story to distract attention from Trump's racism. What makes you think that Trump's "people" want to distract from Trump's racism, even if it were possible to do so? And it would be a huge mistake to think that Trump is embarrassed by anything he has said in the last year about immigration or race.

Second, it is overly simplistic to say: "I have no objection to joe blow paying for sex. Therefore, no should care whether Trump, either explicitly or implicitly, paid a ton of money to have sex with a porn star." Why do we have to judge joe blow and Donald Trump by the same standard? In general, the type of person who would pay a ton of money to have sex with a porn star is not the sort of person I want to be president.

i'm happy to concede that if the story comes out and it turns out he paid to pee on her, **** on her, get pegged, have his balls crushed, etc, then i will completely reverse my opinion and find this story highly newsworthy and amusing.

till that happens, snooze

Sure, and it's fine to be annoyed by people who act sanctimonious about this. But I have no problem with stories like this (Trump cheating on his wife) getting exposure, since even if only some people are bothered (or all the way to the 10% of evangelicals you posit above, which would be a massive number of people -- like 2-3% of the 2016 electorate), it is just another thing to drag down Republican turnout in 2018 and 2020.

i guess i don't, but there's no suggestion from anyone so far that it's anything other than he paid her for sex in 2006 and then paid her to keep quiet about it 10 years later bc he was running for president and wanted to avoid bad PR.

seems like standard practice, another very similar case from 2016 - https://www.wsj.com/articles/nationa...ion-1478309380

Paying someone to be quite is a bit different than a straight up consensual relationship

I think the story here is lol evangelicals.

Of course, the media will keep writing unironic stories about their VALUES.

A way around violating the prostitution laws.

No payments for sex. Just an NDA based settlement.

Why do people keep assuming this was something consensual? Is it just because she's a porn star? From what we know it sure sounds like a sexual assault.

idk why youre doubling down on this, but you're still doing nothing more than demonstrating that you really have no idea what you're talking about and you're just guessing.

the kompromat in the dossier involves golden showers. he's been accused by other women of sexual assault. you have no reason to weight a consensual sexual encounter as any more likely than anything else.

real cute how you automatically give him the benefit of the doubt based on nothing but your own personal feels tho. is this a sklansky gimmick?
