The Presidency of Donald J. Trump: No smocking guns. The Presidency of Donald J. Trump: No smocking guns.

Biggest bombshell in the book is probably an emergency Air Force One meeting where Trump's entire family effectively committed obstruction of justice, which induced one of Trump's legal staffers to quit.

Agree that some of it is probably "truthy" journalism from someone with a history of dodgy reporting and it should be taken with a grain of salt. At the same time, none of it is broadly inconsistent with what we know about the Trump administration. If this is Moron Watergate, then I can't think of a better book to take up the mantle of Moron All The President's Men. Giving it a 5-star rating on Amazon because why not.

Trump’s stupid tv show did not transform reality tv and it wasn’t even his idea.

I think he is definitely more worried about the Mercers support going away. They provide him the resources to do his sillyness. Breitbart does not. Plus he is scurred without his private security.

If you're referring to my post--it didn't work with doing that with Reagan. There's a lot of **** going on that nobody will know about.

Ofc, you're probably right but that's simply because nobody cares.

I think it's pretty absurd to think Trump didn't want the power of the presidency, he filed for re-election instantly, and he ran many times before (2000 reform party, he only withdrew because he correctly thought he couldn't win). Yes, Trump is really dumb in a lot of areas, but he's way smarter than everyone here in manipulation of people and esp the media.

I don't know the rules exactly but some explanation was out there at the time about Trump filing for re-election because it allowed him more freedom in doing his idiotic rallies and scamming money from donors makes more sense. Pretty much every POTUS intended to run for re-election, but Drumpf is the only one to start the campaign on day one.

just watched the miller cnn interview, we all lost. Miller's obv nuts but he didn't lose that argument so WAAF. Right wingers tend to be attracted to power or people that presume it and are/love narcissists. I will never get it. Miller clearly won according to their standards.

Please. If Miller responded to questions by silently whipping out his cock and shaking it to resemble nods and shakes, they would think he won.

Can you imagine spending three ****ing hours every single morning watching Fox News?

Miller was awful, but if the YouTube comments are representative you are right. 30% or so think Miller owned Tapper.

There is a huge lie in the first chapter of the book about Bannon.

My uncle and grandpa both watch Fox News literally all day.

In Jersey, there are a bunch of restaurants that have sports on two out of three TVs and Fox News on the other all day. I see this even in very blue areas of the state.

Disagree. Excellent work by Wolff, well-written and fast-paced, but also offers a surprising amount of depth and insight lacking from most daily news accounts.

While nearly every access journalist hack clutches their pearls and proclaims, "Michael Wolff doesn't play nice" and people like Clovis call him a "sleaze", while also seeming to accept that this is the expose on Trump that was needed. Sometimes you bring a gun to a gunfight and you don't whine like a ***** when the deed is done.

Wolff, by being a mensch, has done a great service to the nation. His name deserves to go down with the likes of Halberstam and Caro as among the great writers on American politics.

One of the best parts of this is seeing Bannon basically lose everything, while also getting to watch him grovel. He will also be strung along, because Trump is cruel and dumb.

Remember, the two horses Bannon backed before Trump were Sarah Palin and Jeffrey B. Sessions, for president, in 2012.

I've said a number of times that he's a one-trick loser who hit a lucky bank shot. However, he couldn't just retire; he had to keep playing and expose his incompetence to the world.

That's another thing, people wonder about the strategy of Bannon not keeping his mouth shut. While everything he believes is wrong (because he is trying to construct a coherent worldview based on his WV Catholic school upbringing and some time in the Navy), he does have more intellectual juice that the flunkies around the Trump campaign. He is Gringrich-level, lower tier college history professor smart. The thing is, he just could not stand seeing Trump be a complete idiot all the time. It offended him as a human being, something more powerful than inducements of fame, money, and power. He tried to never criticize Trump, but that requires too much discipline for a hair-trigger guy like Bannon. Eventually, he cracked. So sad to see the mediocre fall from great heights.

I've heard elsewhere that Bannon doesn't drink. He presumably looks like **** because he eats garbage and sleeps like 4 hours a night.
01-07-2018 , 09:26 PM
There's overlap between the set of adults who never drink and alcoholics.
01-07-2018 , 09:34 PM
Is it wrong to (blindly) speculate that Trump is sleeping with Hope Hicks after reading this book? The guy is by all accounts insatiably lustful and his access must be significantly curtailed. Wolff never said or implied such a thing but I got a lot of creeper vibes and Hicks seems willing to do anything for him.

Yeah but I don't see the point in inventing stories which aren't required to explain the facts. There's an article here where a dermatologist talks about how Bannon looks. It all sounds pretty plausible to me.

I think Hicks is Ivanka's friend or something. Trump just loves using his status/position of power to harass/molest women. Despite being a billionaire, the only women he can bed are prostitutes.
01-07-2018 , 09:42 PM
Bannon's face looks exactly like my father in law's. He was a raging alcoholic narcissist ******* who died from liver failure at age 64.

Every single person I've ever known who NEVER drank and was older than 35 or so was an alcoholic. He's not even a religious nutter. Not proof at all, but if the only evidence he isn't an alcoholic is that he said he's not, then there's no evidence he's not an alcoholic. Whatever, alcoholics aren't all bad and I don't mean to cast aspersions against all of them. On the other hand that has to be weighed against getting to call Bannon a liar if he denies it.

Stephen Miller had to be escorted off CNN's set after his interview with Jake Tapper went off the rails
