Saudis Murder Washington Post Columnist in Consulate Saudis Murder Washington Post Columnist in Consulate

Thread has some updates, there was no interrogation they just threw him in there and cut him up while he was alive. GREAT PEOPLE THESE ARE THE BEST PEOPLE.

Saudis have a **** load of money here (hi silicon valley, hi trump) so this could get a bit lit and awkward quick.

edit--ofc saudis will just say they executed whoever did it and trump will say justice was served and then everyone will forget it ever happened by next tuesday.

Was khashoggi a member of the Muslim brotherhood? Not that it would change my view on KSA. And can't believe Trump is now trying to defend them, he can't side with us (the UK) with the russian spy saga and ignore this evidence imo.
I was sceptical about this supposedly new KSA and new it wouldn't take long for the mask to slip.

We should probably be skeptical of Turkish intelligence reports too. Check how much of this story is bound entirely in unnamed Turkish intelligence sources.

What we actually have one incredibly brutal dictatorship (KSA) and two emerging authoritarian regimes (Turkey, and the US) trying to implant disinformation for public consumption. I'm inclined to sort of trust the Turkish retelling of events here but we should be wary with how eagerly they are leaking all of this, too.

The whole thing reminds me of this:

I don't want to be That Guy where all pieces of news bend toward some hysteric conclusion, perhaps the current moment will abate, authoritarianism will atrophy and wither, who knows.

But I think the big, meta take away here -- including the number of stories of how the literal Head of Interpol was recently Disappeared in China, a ****ing insane story with strangely far less coverage -- is that the new world order (US, Russia, the Middle East, China) may just be incredibly dangerous for journalists and authorities who **** around with powerful people, and no one is going to do anything, move along.

People can pray at the altar of Marco Rubio or whatever the **** but I think we should start to hunker down and prepare for a long decade or two. These regimes might be a little neater about this in the future, I mean the ****ing brutality of chopping up this dude with a bone saw is something else, but that too is probably a feature, not a bug.

Nothing is going to happen, journalists and others should absolutely be terrified of these sorts of events, and I don't see how you can have much hope for any accountability for any of this from anyone, there's no incentive for it.

To be clear about what I said: Deplorables hate Muslims, not terrorists, and so yes, there's a whole cottage industry of right winger faux intellectuals that have been writing about the dangers of Sharia and Wahhabism and how it's all funded and controlled from Riyadh, terrorism really has nothing to do with it. The overwhelming majority of white Christians who are really concerned about Sharia and Wahhibism certainly are.
10-17-2018 , 05:08 AM
How do you know if a white Christian man who says he hates Wahhibism and sharia isn't telling the truth, and that's all he hates? Do you just presume cause he's Christian and white he wants race and religious wars?
10-17-2018 , 05:10 AM
I know this because I'm not stupid, though claiming it's the overwhelming majority was probably lowballing it pretty badly.
10-17-2018 , 08:23 AM
Shouldn't most people hate Wahhibism and Sharia anyway? And me being British I'd throw Deobandi's into that group of people we should all not be happy bringing their backwards ideas here with them as well.

Don't get me wrong, I see groups like Britain first going on about how these people are bad, and with people like that it's a good way for them to disguise their real hatred of those people, but shouldn't every liberal hate something extreme as Wahhibism and just the idea of Sharia law?

Listen, it’s a very scary time. A very scary time for Saudi authoritarian monarchs. Anybody can just accuse you if anything and you’re guilty and your life is ruined. What about due process? A guy can’t even travel around with his trusty bone saw anymore without the Mob Left doing a search and destroy mission?

From a quick google

"Although he seemed a bit hesitant to fully agree with Stelter’s premise at first, Hiatt did ultimately concur that Trump’s “enemy of the people”-type statements about American journalists were “part of the big picture” surrounding Khashoggi’s presumed murder."

I didn't call you a liar, I said what you posted was possibly a lie because you provided no evidence to back your assertion. It's not our job to independently verify your stupid posts.

Hey man just a quick tip this is an extremely ineffective method of owning the libs. You're far too stupid to try to be clever.

The strategy for your intellectual peers is to skip this step and go straight to the fearmongering as that cottage industry does.

****ing hell. We did not need anther UKIP dip**** pretending to be liberal on this forum, and if we did want one we'd prefer someone less obviously dishonest and painfully smug.

"Are you saying?!?!?" look at this ****ing ****, how lazy are you to try to spring this trap without laying one followup? "Are you saying" should be followed with a reasonable paraphrase of the previous person's statement! You just saw Sharia and your eyes rolled back into your skull in panicky anger that nice white fellows whomst hate the Pakis were being called racist.

Imagine how fancy of a lad this chinless young Tory ***** must be. ****ing shortpants year round I'd wager.

The only people I know who support Wahhibism are the Tory party who sell advanced weaponry to Wahhibist saudi arabia which are then given to Wahhibist terrorists all over the globe (when they're not being used on innocent civilians).

Weasel words, instead of apologizing. Nice!

Personally, I would rather google, than accuse someone of telling a lie.

Personally I'd rather you ****ed off rather than ever posting again but we don't always get what we want.

Straw man.

Let people debate the murder, and stop making stuff up. Thanks.

Trump just upped the fake $150B in contracts to $450B. Digging in to help a dictator get away with murder almost as good as shooting someone on 5th Ave.

Saudis probably have more on this guy than Putin. I assume there was a reason that, of all the countries he could have picked, he chose to visit SA first of all.

There are lots of things worth hating, but if you're white and Christian and Wahhibism and Sharia make it towards the top of your list above things like, say, white supremacy and the rise of neo-fascism, it's because you're racist, and not out of some deep concern for the human rights of Muslims or a legitimate threat that your government will institute these practices.

Turkish papers are reporting that Khashoggi was tortured for seven minutes with the bone saw before he was murdered. The rapid autopsy guy cut off all of Khashoggi's fingers while he was alive and conscious. The Turks say that a source in the embassy heard hideous screams from the Consul General's office. Yeah, you're gonna get some hideous screams. The rapid autopsy guy was recorded saying that generally when he does this sort of thing he puts on headphones and listens to music, and suggested that the others present do the same.

The Consul General was apparently all: "hey guys can you do this outside, you're totally going to get me in trouble come on guys"
Torture Guy: "Shut the **** up if you don't want to die when you get back to SA"
Consul General: "Good point"
