Maybe this comes down to a Eng Lit professor not being that familiar with the DATA concept.

I imagine just the claim that you can back an opinion with empirical evidence is simply mind blowing to a professor of literature.

This might explain why Lord cant evolve his argument beyond simply stating "But he had data".

Just the concept of data proving a position must be so revelatory, so inspirational to a professor of symbology that the idea that we can even doubt the data is beyond his wide eyed awestruck capacity to process.

I dont know though, its like their are bad mechanics, but they can get the bonnet open, they perform the rudiments of the task, but badly.

Im not seeing anything from Lord as regards the basic rudiments of making an argument, and that is pretty much his alleged job.
