You do not get to call yourself "liberal" if you are fundamentally illiberal. If you support the actions taken against the KCL guy or against Milo or any other person who has been victim to this new Puritanism, you are supporting the tyranny of mob rule. It isn't cool, it isn't right. Keep telling yourselves that it is because Donald Trump is a bad man.
The people who came out in support of the actions of the students against the guy who made the tweet are now my political enemies.
I might not like Trump, but I like them even less. I am against them because they are against liberty. They are people who cannot be trusted in any circumstances because they think complaining to one's employer, protesting public engagements, starting social media campaigns and signing petitions are the correct avenues with which to voice disagreement with interpretations of data.
If you can't see why it is wrong and a terrible thing, you are officially my political enemy.
Ok, so some students may be going over the top in their promotion of tolerance, equality, and sensitivity. You have a point. Just curious about your terminology of "sickening," "disgusting," "illiberal," "enemies."
Where do these trampling of liberties rank in terms of how much they bother you and why?
1. Trumps enthusiasm for asset forfeiture
2. The Texas woman getting 8 years in jail for not realizing she was ineligible to vote
3. People throwing around the word "racist" too much and starting petitions
