It doesn't a lot of intelligence to decide that arming toddlers isn't a good idea.

Still can’t believe Bernie’s people didn’t know better.

From the way he said it, it sounded like he didn't want to be recorded on camera making the statement more than that he disagreed with it. That was the funny part IMO.

God, and these are the people who influence our laws.

It's on channel 4 tonight in the UK.

Who'd have thought people could still be taken in by him......oh yeah, the kind of people who think more guns makes their country more safe.

Despite them being deplorables, I was actually kind of impressed with them. Maybe it's just because cameras were there, but they had a hell of a lot of patience with Cohen and at least seemed to try to listen to him.

The gun segment was the most obvious jaw-dropper, but man, I was wide-eyed when the art gallery owner was giving him her pubes.

Bernie did fine - at least in that clip.

Really hard to watch at times. I hope the art dealer was in on it for the sake of her career.

Obvious highlight was the idiocy of the gun lobby. I'd like to think it'll have a negative impact on their careers but they'll probably carry on regardless.

doubt Joe Walsh or anyone can recover from that

I really want to see this, but in Canada I don't think I even have an option to pay to see it.

Cohen's problem is the same in every series he does. He's great when he's exposing the idiocy of others (I don't even mind when he picks on "easy targets" **** those people) but half+ of his show is punching down. We're laughing (supposedly) at the character. Does Bernie even need to be in the room for his 'right wing conspiracy nuts can't do maths' bit? He makes some good faces but that's about it.

Like how much of the stuff we remember of borat is him sending up people prejudices and how much is haha this funny foreigner who talks strangely, who rapes his wife, and who hates jews isn't it funny how all foreigners are pretty much like that?

The humour is both is character and seeing people's reaction to such a character. Either how they agree with it or are willing to be polite by agreeing verbally (despite being horrified internally) with someone who is obviously a terrible person

I was both laughing hard and cringing hard. Cringing so hard that I almost changed channels but decided it was too hilarious not to be seen.

Case in point being the conversation with the car dealer in Borat.

"When I buy my wife she cook good, strong on plough and vagine work good. But 3 years later, when she turn 15, she get hair on chest, her voice go deep and vagine hang like sleeve of wizard."

That still cracks me up.

This.

Overall the show was okay and it had its moments but not as good as some of his previous work. I hope the next episodes will be better.

What can be better than getting people to be sympathetic to your tale of your wife cheating on you w/ a dolphin and, after marriage counseling, you're now spending 3 months/yr in Hawaii?
07-17-2018 , 10:53 PM
Hawaii was a fantastic punchline. I laughed out loud at that.

I didnt see his Bruno character with ron paul before today, i guess most ppl here have seen it before, almost too good.

I call bull**** on the Bernie Sanders interview. With Borat there were some who knew what was going on and played along. Bernie seems to be playing along here especially given the fact that the interview doesn’t make Bernie look bad at all.

The Republicans are a lot easier to make look bad.
