Huh, well. Considering the West, especially the USA and the UK are literally run by war criminals, waging illegal wars like it's their favorite hobby, I would say that engaging in drug trade is pretty harmless.

Russian Journalist Shot and Killed in Ukrainian Capital
A Russian journalist harshly critical of the Kremlin was shot and killed in the Ukrainian capital Tuesday, and the national police said he apparently was targeted because of his work.

Ukrainian police said Arkady Babchenko's wife found him bleeding at their apartment building in Kiev and called an ambulance, but Babchenko died on the way to a hospital.

Police said he died of multiple gunshot wounds to his back.

Babchenko tweeted to say he would "die at 96" after "dancing on Putin's grave", referring to the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin.
That's definitely a bold play.

I really dont get how faking his death could somehow be an effective sting.

Maybe they had some route of contact with the person who ordered the hit and staging his death to claim the bounty would lure him out?

Three Russian journalists killed in Central African Republic ambush
TsUR said the journalists had been investigating the activities of the so-called Wagner group, an organization of private military contractors which, people with ties to the group have told Reuters, carried out clandestine combat missions on the Kremlin’s behalf in eastern Ukraine and Syria.

In other words, russia killed him, blamed ukraine for it. Arrest a bunch of ukrainians for **** they did. Standard.

Moscow didn't like the guy so he had to go. They were gonna try the rig election route but that's easier.
08-31-2018 , 05:38 PM
well i mean idk, it COULD be the ukranian military defense getting their guy. they ARE at war, i think the most likely thing is the guy's enemies, who he's at war with, killed him.

Well, he was lucky to have enemies all over the place! Zakharchenko supported a coup in Luhansk (the other Eastern Ukrainian breakaway republic) about 6 months back, so it could be fallout over that. The old leader (Plotnitsky) apparently fled to Moscow but no idea if he's still there or was in with what crowd. As ever it's all murky.

“It is of course for a jury to decide whether the evidence is enough for them to be sure of the suspects’ guilt. “We will not be applying to Russia for the extradition of these men as the Russian constitution does not permit extradition of its own nationals.

I don't see why it would not be worth applying for extradition. It is for the Russian govt to decide if an allowance be made in this case. The reality is of course that these men will never ever face a jury and blow the lid off the whole affair incriminating British intelligence and security services.
