Ron Paul 2012 Containment Thread Ron Paul 2012 Containment Thread

If Ron Paul were 20 years younger he's leading right now and the media can't brush him aside like they are.

God MSNBC is so ridiculous.

Quote:
Woman in blue: We have polls out now, there's a new Bloomberg poll that shows among Iowa caucus goers, Cain's still up there. I mean he's still in the running. So what gives?

Graphic: 20% Cain 19% Paul 18% Romney 17% Gingrich

Man with purple tie: I don't think people want to decide right now. Romney has very low negatives, so it's not like they hate Romney. That's the thing. They just want to entertain as much fantasy as they can right now. Cain next week is going to have lower poll numbers than he has now. Newt next week is probably going to have higher.

Woman in red: I can tell one of the reasons why is conservative voters don't know where to go. They don't know where to go. Mitt Romney is not a conservative. Newt Gingrich has some issues in the past, that people think he has a lot of baggage. I happen to be a fan of a lot of his policy going forward, and I think that will weigh heavily and keep him rising, but conservative voters really wanted someone who wasn't a standard politician. They wanted someone who had executive experience. Cain is a strong business man, but when it comes down to it, he's not putting the time in when it comes to foreign policy.

... [more on Cain]

Michael Steele: I think that's where the opening is right now for both Newt and Huntsman. I think that there's still an opportunity for Jon Huntsman to really put this thing into gear for himself.

... [more on Huntsman, shows his super PAC ad]
So despite his strong second, they don't even mention his name when discussing that poll, or in the segment. And they go on to discuss Jon Huntsman of all people. They don't mention Perry, but a lot of stuff they're scrolling on their Twitter graphic is about him, Cain, and Newt.

Well, that was Michael Steele...who is probably closer to Hunstman politically than any of the other candidates. I think it's definitely wishful thinking to talk about any sort of Huntsman surge now....though not impossible. I wouldn't need ridiculous odds to take Hunstman polling over Paul in one of the major nationwide polls at some point in the next 3 months.

I've always wanted to post this, but I don't think I have yet. It seems kinda fitting here, I guess.

imo, if 1980 Milton Friedman were running, he'd take it all down, GOP nom and general.

Sounds like the establishment is hearing the foot steps coming.

No chance. The right hates ivory tower egghead elites.

politico gives the poll results a pretty fair shake here

Fox News' The Five reacts to the Bloomberg Iowa poll.

Eric Bolling: Why is Ron Paul second? *astonished*

Bob Beckel: Well because Ron Paul always has those votes...

And then they talk about Cain's fall and Newt's rise.

I really wish RP would just steal the tactics of the Obama campaign outlined in some story a while back. But no, he's against centralization, so I guess it'll never happen. Better to lose a purist, eh?

I'm very glad Ron Paul fans are getting good news in this poll. It was depressing to see our poll numbers stuck around 8-12% in Iowa for months. Even if this poll may be somewhat of an outlier, it will hopefully get some media coverage, encourage the base, and translate to better fundraising, coverage and most importantly, a win in the Iowa caucus.

Google results vary from person to person based on their database info. they make educated guesses. so, Google may know there's a high probability that you are a Ron Paul supporter. it's pretty amazing technology.

I'd say his strategy is very much in line with Obama's.

His support is young and mostly grassroots. His organization is strong and heavily focused in Iowa and Nevada which are early caucus states.

Ron Paul is the tortoise to Mitt Romney the hare. Romney raised the most money and came out with the highest support. But Ron Paul is growing with genuine support while all the candidates rise and fall with the wind.

I bet you embedded it too. :/

nah, I only embed the good videos.

I wonder what republicans would do if it looked like RP was going to get the nom? I bet FoxNews would start running 24-hour anti-RP-propaganda. He'd become the new Obama.

hey, maybe some of you clowns should stop bsing about ron paul and evolution and ****ing vote for him, lest this country become even AIDSier than it is now. god i'm on tilt.

this is the problem in a nutshell; it's the kind of thing that's been happening more and more and it's extremely obvious that it's only going to get worse if something drastic doesn't happen. if you don't see this, i kind of feel bad for you.

in before "but ron paul's suit doesn't fit!" fml.

ah, didn't mean to steal your thunder; didn't notice you'd started that.

it's incredible to me that this kind of stuff can go on and people who are generally intelligent can ignore it in favor of discussing the suit size of the one guy who would do his best to put a stop to it. kinda makes me want to kill myself.
11-15-2011 , 11:59 PM
well, the suit discussion including a lot of comments from Paul supporters. It doesn't matter to us, but it matters to sheep whose votes we need.
