The impression I always had was that you could get caught several times and never spend a day in jail. Maybe the states i've lived in have been super lenient about this stuff unlike the draconian hell hole that oklahoma apparently is. Whereas the harder stuff was pretty much insta prison.

I'm talking about marijuana prohibition as a whole. You say you didn't think it was a problem, but really "the war on drugs" could be accurately said as "the war on marijuana". Most of the war on drugs is marijuana.

he sounds like he has a cold

If you're an American, you could just post your 7th grade Math SAT scores. I assume everyone got an 800 in high school.

Ron Paul will be on Meet the Press tomorrow morning on NBC.

Well, now, sure. But study up on the crack pandemic of inner-city NY and tell me who the real target was back in the day..

Since the whole field is terrible and random assistant managers at Pizza Hut are being given serious consideration, does anybody else find it odd that RP is still largely ignored and has not seen his chances of getting elected improve at all?

I would think this would be the perfect set of circumstances for him to have any chance - and still...nothing...

She got busted selling drugs with her kids in the house in a state she knows (or should know) has draconian sentencing laws for drugs.

I have no sympathy for that woman whatsoever. Darwinism at work etc.

RP didn't "win" those states, he won straw polls. You don't get to say you've won Ohio until you win the primary there.

And yes, most anyone who follows politics will tell you that the straw polls are irrelevant, since the top candidates don't put much of an effort into them and they have no effect on the primaries.

actually trolly mctrollson, the media (which follows politics very closely) tells us that straw polls are very important so long as RP isn't the one winning them.

[citation needed]

Every year I've watched, I've never heard anyone in the media pretend that straw polls matter. Honestly, the RP persecution complex is misplaced in this case.

Come on...next you'll be saying that Paul getting 30 seconds less on average per debate to speak than some other candidates is not the result of a nefarious plan to silence ron paul.

are you ****ing joking? is your name intended to make me feel stupid for even talking to you? FRONT PAGE NEWS "Bachmann wins Iowa" Herman Cain wins Florida - THESE WERE TOP NEWS EVENTS.

RP killed it on Meet the Press btw

Huffington Post has a good article looking at that Pew Research media study. It definitely looks like when a candidate gets a high volume of positive stories, a surge in the polls follows. When the media stops fueling the fire, the numbers fade.

Note the scale on the right is not consistent for Cain which is ******ed. He clearly seems to have gotten more from less coverage than Perry or Bachmann, but the study ended before the media turned negative on him.

*rolls eyes*

[citation needed] doesn't mean make up anecdotal headlines.

Iowa always gets attention bc it's the first in the nation and nothing much else is going on that early in the campaign season. I don't even remember hearing about any of the other straw polls. And my favorite part of this is how you follow through with RP being on Meet the Press.

But look, this is a sidetrack from my main points:

1. The straw polls are irrelevant.

2. Saying your guy "won Ohio" because he won the OH straw polls is disingenuous.

Bachmann Wins Iowa Straw Poll, Cements Her Top-Tier Status in GOP Race

Herman Cain Upsets Gov. Rick Perry to Win Florida GOP Straw Poll

On the other hand, Fox News doesn't have a big story for Ron Paul winning the Values Voters straw poll, but they did when Romney won it four years ago:

Romney Wins Conservative 'Values Voters' Straw Poll

30-second google search:

Ron Paul wins Values Voter straw poll (CNN)

Ron Paul Wins Values Voter Straw Poll (Fox)

Ron Paul Wins 2011 Values Voter Straw Poll, Herman Cain Takes Second Place (ABC)

But look, we can swap anecdotal, cherry-picked websites all day and it proves nothing. It's like proving poker is rigged, you'd need a systematic study to really show it.

the pew research study has already been linked which proves there is a definite media bias against Paul.

You're sort of proving my point. Look where those articles are from. Ron Paul gets blog articles, this is not mainstream news coverage.

Meet the press interview:
I like Ron Paul's eyeroll at 4:23.

Also, quite disgraceful by NBC to pick the "taxation is immoral" quote from 1987 and the "Libertarian Party News." The host even says it out loud, making sure no one misses it. That's ****ed up. They couldn't find a quote similar to that in the past 20 years? Give me a ****ing break.

Despite the dumb questions by the interviewer, Paul handled it well.

I don't know why the interviewer asked Paul if Romney and Obama really aren't different. They let Paul hit a home run with that one. I don't think he's ever been asked that type of question ever on a news network. Hopefully he won over some voters.

LOL I just started the interview and the words "draconian cut" have been uttered. LOL U. I've got some appropriate words to put the word "draconian" in front of, and none of them involve reducing the size of government ****face. Interviewer dude is a buttmunch.
