Google led me to...

Perry indicted on two felony charges

Quote:
AUSTIN — A grand jury indicted Gov. Rick Perry on two counts of Friday, accusing him of abusing his veto power by threatening to withhold funding from the Travis County's public corruption unit if the district attorney did not resign following her drunken driving arrest.

The Travis County grand jury, led by special prosecutor Mike McCrum, indicted Perry on one count of abuse of official capacity, a first-degree felony, and coercion of a public servant, a third-degree felony.
Sounds like everyone involved is a douche. Travis County is basically the Austin metro area.

Oh my god. One of Wookie's finest extraction titles ever. Possibly needs an "oops".

Everything he did was pretty much out in the open. It's not new news. It's not like they found a smoking gun. They just decided to indict him for what he openly admitted to doing. Should be interesting.

I'm constantly amazed at thread titles around here, and this one is top top pair.

Didn't Rick Perry murder an innocent guy on death row like 18 months ago? But this got him indicted?

So before all the partisan d-bags tard up this thread, I'd love it if someone could find a good, in-depth analysis on this.

On the surface it seems like there's like a 1% chance this guy gets convicted. Since when are vetos illegal?

Not really. It was probably the best thing I've read so far, but it was far from the good legal analysis I was hoping for.

What rule did I break?

Is partisan d-bag a political ideology?

1% is far too high.

Harris county is known for making up dumb cases against Republican politicians; it's a tradition like no other.
