Mexican congressman climbs U.S. border fence to illustrate that Trump's wall is 'totally absurd'

Quote:
"You can climb it with great ease, one climbs in an instant," Guerra says in the video. "I climbed it in Tijuana, one of the highest parts, even from a distance this looks very complex, but there are young people that go up and down, at all times."

"Wall just got ten feet higher!"

Trump tomorrow in response to photo

Fake news

Quote:
It is worth noting, though, that Guerra did not post any photos or video footage of himself climbing the wall, so some in the Twittersphere questioned how he reached the top and how easy such a feat really is.

Yep, and engineers are stymied at the only way to build a wall

I had never been near a Trump rally before today. Unsurprisingly, it goes about like:

1. Welcome
2. Pledge of Allegiance
3. Prayer
4. Introduction
5. National Anthem
6. Joe Walsh Speech
7. Singing of God Bless America
8. Another Speech

Steps 1, 4, 6, and 8 include chanting USA or Trump at every opportunity.

It was hard to tell the crowd sizes because of the way it was set up, but it looked about equal. Trump rally was in a park in the center of a market area. Protestors walked the perimeter across the street. Basically like walking in a square around a city block/2-3 small town blocks.

California people, this guy needs to get taken down. Let's get a Democrat in there in 2018.
http://www.motherjones.com/politics/...ate-california
Quote:
Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.), an early and outspoken supporter of Donald Trump during the presidential campaign, is known for launching frequent investigations of Democrats. Then, in a February 24 appearance on Real Time With Bill Maher, he suddenly became the first congressional Republican to call for a special prosecutor to investigate Trump's election. He's long used conspiracy theories to battle established climate science, yet on Thursday he joined the Climate Solutions Caucus, a bipartisan group of legislators dedicated to fighting climate change.

Why the about-face? The former chair of the House Oversight Committee—famous for his high-theater, low-yield investigations into alleged Democratic scandals involving Benghazi, the IRS, the gun sting gone awry known as Operation Fast and Furious, and Healthcare.gov, among others—is suddenly facing a very tough election. California's 49th Congressional District, where Issa has reigned for more than 16 years, has a growing Latino population that has helped push it slowly but steadily leftward. In November, Issa eked out a win over Democrat Doug Applegate, a political newcomer, by just 1,680 votes. Orange County, part of which falls within Issa's district, favored Hillary Clinton by a nine-point margin, marking the first time it voted for a Democrat for president since 1936. The New York Times recently called Issa "probably the nation's most vulnerable incumbent."

Bread and Butter Issues:
Trump is going back on his PROMISE to build the Keystone Pipeline with U.S. steel, instead it will largely be built using RUSSIAN steel according to reports:

From Feb 13th.

Quote:
DeSmog has uncovered that 40 percent of the steel created so far was manufactured in Canada by a subsidiary of Evraz, a company 31-percent owned by Russian oligarch Roman Abramovich, who is a close ally of Putin and a Trump family friend.
Quote:
After helping launch Putin’s presidency in Russia, Abramovich also was instrumental in the vetting and picking of Putin’s cabinet, according to Midgley and Hutchins in their book. They also reveal that Abramovich was instrumental in the creation of Putin’s political party, Unity.
Quote:
Ivanka Trump, the daughter of President Donald Trump, maintains her own ties to Abramovich. Ivanka’s circle of friends includes Dasha Zhukova, the wife of Abramovich.

1) Going to my congresswoman's Town Hall tomorrow. Pramila Jayapal, she's new this term and is quickly establishing herself as a leader of the resistance.

2) One of my favorite twitter follows is starting a "how to resist" newsletter.

Such a popcorn inspiring thread.

Seriously, we have this election thingy every 730 days. That might be a good time to show up to something

Whats the point in filibustering Gorsuch? SCOTUS justices are extremely hard to put in an ideological box and the guy is well-qualified. Yeah, sadpants about Garland, but see above about elections. If Gorsuch is denied, what kind of rightwing godzillamothra hybrid do you think will be next? You think the army of redhats is gonna stand for 4 years of senatorial obstruction?
03-06-2017 , 03:22 AM
Republicans obstructed the entire god damn time including a SCOUTS seat but yeah it's the dems who shouldn't because that might make republicans slightly more aggro? Republicans don't give a ****. Court is tied up so the strat is gonna be delay as long as possible.

Republicans said they'd block a HRC appointment for 4 years after blocking Obama's very reasonable pick for over a year. The Dems cooperating one tiny bit with any nomination other than Garland would be a complete surrender. It would be confirming the rule that henceforth only Republicans pick SCOTUS members.

Citing popular vote on a site that utilizes deductive reasoning as a skill is very interesting.

Gorsuch will send back voting rights 100 years if he is allowed to be on the bench. Ignoring Garland completely, there's absolutely no way we can let him on the Supreme Court without fighting it to the exhaustion of every single possibility.

They just voted for Trump on the basis of obstruction. Of course they'll vote for obstruction as long as it's framed properly, they've already proven they'll do so. And the reason for blocking Gorsuch--he will set voting rights and gerrymandering back 100 years if he ever makes it onto the bench. He cannot be allowed to be on SCOTUS as long as voting rights and civil rights are important to us.

Yeah, I am really sick of being gaslighted and told I am in the minority. We are the majority, we got more votes in the election, we will not be bullied into accepting the rule of an anti-democratic minority regime. We DID show up to vote and in much greater numbers than the fascists. The voting system is rigged against us, we must fight THAT as well. Refusing to acknowledge that when we just got 2,900,000 more votes and "lost" the election is not going to help things, people.
03-06-2017 , 08:51 AM
Let's have a hearing on Garland first and then we can consider Trump's nominee.

Here's some deductive reasoning for you. Democrats won the popular vote by 2,900,000, so our positions are actually overwhelmingly more popular than Republican positions.
