But what if that overlaps with the March for Science on Saturday? Awkward.

Bump

Are you feeling it? I'm kinda feeling it.

We decided to protest in downtown LA instead of Trump's golf course. That's out of fear. My wife and maybe child will be with me. The golf course is isolated. It will be a smaller crowd, there will be lots of police, it will be hard to avoid trespassing, there may well be vandalism, and it will not be easy to evade arrest. I might be willing to be arrested, but not my wife and certainly not my 15 year old. But even for me the threat that charges will be insanely harsh like they were at the inauguration gives me pause. Back in the day when I was arrested protesting I was given a traffic citation with no fine because it was time served for the hours in jail.

Oh well. If it goes down I hope the true radicals eff up at least some of Trump's property.

Nothing says "I fancy licking jackboots" like being a certified security officer. That's as far as I got in this cucks autobiography. SAD!

This really belongs in the "Another World is Possible" thread, but that was in P7.0.

I'm going to a meeting today of Democracy at Work where they are having a group that is trying to start a cooperative ride sharing group/platform.

We hope you'll join us for our April meetup, in which we'll welcome Matthew Bair from People's Ride, a new cooperatively owned alternative to Uber right here in Los Angeles. Matt has a Master's Degree from the University of Massachusetts in Labor Relations and Research, where he studied: Solidarity Economies, Unions, and Coops. For over five years he has organized professionally for labor unions including SEIU, UFCW, and UE (United Electrical Workers). Since its conception, he has been an ongoing member of the Union Co-op council of the USFWC (United States Federation of Worker Co-ops). Currently, he is working on the development of People's Ride (a partner of Democracy at Work of NYC), a rideshare similar to Uber but with a business structure like a worker co-op, giving control to drivers.

Hey I'm, you know, just letting the world know I'm still here and ready to do, like, serious protesting and stuff. Same place I've been for the past 17 months, just waiting for decent crowds with commitment so I'm not a lone nutter who gets tossed in the clink.

Hello, America? Are you there? *tap* *tap* Is this thing on?

*sigh*

Interesting to know that you seem to be in favor of vandalism.

I'm in favor of far worse than vandalism. PM for details!

Thanks for the offer, but I think I'll pass on the PM.

I'm glad you're interested in helping! There's lots going on and it'll be easy for you to get involved. There are way more options besides a protest. There have been protests (e.g. march for our lives, women's march, women's march 2.0), if you get connected to some resistance groups or follow this thread you should be kept up to date.

If you'd like to do more, calling your senator and congresspersons is very effective. Additionally, I started a small fb group where my aunt (very involved in the resistance) sometimes posts short, specific, actions one can take to help. This is the group. Just mention my sn and 2+2 in your join request and I'll green light you.

**** trump. Forever. Just.. **** that guy.

There are protests all the time in LA and probably in Boston. There was one here on June 14th over the child separations. You'll be one of 50 people instead of 50 thousand, but it's still not just one crazy dude.

im sure what this guy has in mind is far worse than what i ever said in that blog since i wasnt even serious and just letting off steam. its inconceivable to me how anyone can not think the president has done a wonderful job in office.

I was going to bump this thread today! About 300 people marched to the ICE field station in Phoenix this evening. There were the usual chants as well as songs about peace and love. I was sort of hoping Antifa would show up but there was nobody for them to engage with since there were no counter-protesters and the Police did not bother to show up.

I have been doing these things. It's not enough. We need larger numbers engaging in real civil disobedience. The resistance is spineless.

Susan Collins wrote Trump a strongly-worded letter, so there’s that.
06-18-2018 , 09:23 AM
We only do real protests for pipelines and tuition debt. Destabilizing corruption, fascism and incompetence warrants Twitter memes.
06-18-2018 , 09:29 AM
Best thing you can do at this point is volunteer for a democratic congressional candidate near you, preferably a non-DNC-approved one.

It doesn’t end well for quislings, bit of a spoiler alert here.

@theDuker,

It's pretty smart and cool that the police didn't show en masse, but they were almost certainly there somewhere.

And yet I can't find any info about anything happening on the 4th of July. I sure as hell don't feel like waving the flag and watching a parade or fireworks. If you hear of anything let me know.

I looked and didn't find, but I'm sure there will be something.

There is this today:

I could try to go, but propects aren't great. Maybe if I work super hard and finish early. If you went to Alhambra to help me slap up some solar panels I could make it.

Like the idea of 4th of July protests--I don't have any travel plans this year and live near DC. Don't have any social media accounts so if you all hear anything please post here
