That's a pretty textbook example of crying wolf.

For the dictionary dude you know that's not really what acolyte means, right? None of us know AOC or work with her campaign. It implies a degree of formal connection, assisting the clergy and whatnot, it's more like apprentice with a religious overtone.
Do you really think I don't know what acolyte means? It refers to a devotee, and yes, the religious connotation underscores the cult-like mentality you have for AOC. I just typed "Sanders acolytes" into Google since I was sure there would be results using it to refer to dedicated political followers (although not necessary people who work with him personally or are literally altar attendants, which is one of the older definitions). Let's have a look:

First page Google results—here's on from The Atlantic:

Does Donald Trump actually have a shot to win the votes of one-time Sanders acolytes?

And from PBS:

Sanders acolytes who have been swept in by his lofty promises and pledges of “political revolution” said they wanted a candidate they connected with, expressing frustration with the idea that they should vote for Clinton...

Collins dictionary's primary definition is "a follower or attendant."
Random House's third definition (after its more literal religious ones) is "any attendant, assistant, or follower."

And those are the only two dictionaries I checked. Not only is it not misused to describe the AOC acolytes in this thread, it's eminently appropriate, and its alliterative aspect with AOC seems to betoken divine endorsement.

So it looks like your attempt at intellectualism against one of your betters kind of blew up in your face. Sorry about that—learn for next time. And sorry that my accurate labeling has caused you such deep wounds that you chose to stray off topic to try to pick apart my diction.

Again, you lack the intellectual wattage to successfully reference the parable of the Boy Who Cried Wolf. So yes, everyone else is more qualified to opine. You're trailer trash with a ****ing trust fund, never forget that.
No trust fund. Not trailer trash. Again, you have no idea who I am, but your posting indicates I make you feel inferior so you lash out with failed attempts to show you're smarter than I am. I guess now I can see why you usually just employ the tactic of calling everyone racist; surprisingly that's less embarrassing.

And Trolly, sorry for "cross-checking" your boy so hard here, but you have to admit he deserved it.

State pitch: Less investigation is necessary in 2019 to determine if someone's a racist.

You’d think just once they would stick to the script and believe fly, but no. They always jump the gun.

This isn’t so much allowing your mask to slip as it is ripping the mask off.

Can't ascertain the validity of cutting to the chase until I know what accent she typed in.

OK like I'm not 9 years old, though? I remember 2009. You might remember that your people were spending that time FURIOUS that people were calling birthers and tea partiers racist. You never went to the field, you never gave us the benefit of the doubt, and the issue is that not you don't believe **** is racist, the issue is you think racism is good.

Yes? That's why I wrote that you misused it.

You would not use "assistant" or "attendant" to describe us, though. Which are the words used by the dictionary to define acolyte.

Again, no, I'm right. Follower is closer but we aren't really followers of hers, we are supporters. The religious term you were maybe looking for was "zealot"?

Buddy you used a ****ing Larry Elder term like it was in common usage. Larry ****ing Elder.

well, hang on a sec

he is talking about ending family separation

and he is setting up an alternative to turning asylum seekers away outright or making them wait in Mexico

these are both positive directions compared to the administration's current preferences

"sounds an awful lot like concentration camps"

is this where someone digs up the technical definition of "concentration camp" in effort to walk back the implied claim that he's talking about starving & gassing asylum seekers that he can't work to death?

These olds don’t get it and never will. They even were talking about potentially redistricting her seat with less favorable geography, but then realized she’d be more popular than whoever she ran against Democrat or Republican lol.
Oh they get it. It's about power/money, not about doing what's right.

he's talking about indefinite imprisonment of families until their cases are heard. you really think they're going to be in a hurry to hear these cases once they have tens of thousands of brown people in cages?
04-10-2019 , 12:30 PM
i love how all of these dudes just omit the fact that the rate of asylum seekers showing up to their trials while released was over 98%..

Heavily scrutinized cages that they're paying for? Yes, I think so. Racists don't want browns near them; they aren't scheming ways to keep them around under miserable conditions for sadistic pleasures.

The guy also said he wants to send more judges down in order to process them quicker (granted that, being a deplorable, he presumes the applicants will largely be denied).

well yeah... otherwise they'd have to step back from their deplorable-stroking position that the "invaders" are generally terrible people (even if maybe some of them are okay)

protecting America from browns has been the GOP's only draw for at least 20 years

Actually, that's not fair. They're also big on deregulating the mechanisms of the aristocracy.
