From what I've seen, I'm heads and shoulders more charitable than anyone else in this thread in responding to substantive responses to my posts. My posts tend to get a deluge of hate-spew from the AOC fanatics, but still I give genuine responses to those that I think might be attempting a good-faith discussion. If you can link to a post that was substantive that I missed, I will respond to it.

That's not true. I called the people who act like acolytes acolytes. But it shouldn't seem like a weird coincidence to you that a thread whose premise is praising AOC is full of AOC acolytes.

Also M2Bs point is correct; Trump openly mocked Jeff Sessions’ accent and none of these guys made a peep. Guess you could argue we already know he’s garbage and we expect more from AOC but you’d probably come off as disingenuous.
Yeah, I get it. Criticizing her makes me racist. You guys have cried wolf with the racism card a few million too many times for it to mean anything anymore. Nothing I've said in criticizing her phony accent, which you concede is phony, is actually racist.

Would you expect them to? I don't constantly use them either, only when they're appropriate. And they accurately describe a huge percentage of this forum. Is the point you're making that I'm not a liberal because I don't talk like your liberal friends?

My point is she looks bad affecting an accent to ingratiate herself with the audience. My point is it's phony, and that her doubling down and accusing those criticizing her of racism and white privilege made her look even worse. I thought it was a political misstep. That's my point. Feel free to address it in a way that I haven't responded to already, or feel free to say nothing.

Just admit she makes you feel funny inside and go away.
I've noticed this a lot in this forum—this kind of projecting. Do you even know that I'm straight? Just a weird, childish ad hominem. When you find yourself resorting to saying things like that, it generally means you're losing the argument.

I've been to the Bronx a couple times to see the Yankees play. I've overheard blacks on the subway there and the way back. I don't remember them saying there ain't nothin' WROUNG with Jeter trying to steal second. In high school my best friend senior year was a black guy from Queens, and there were a couple other black guys from NYC in my classes, although I don't know which borough those two were from. None of them talked like AOC during her speech. I have a decent linguistics background, but I've never done any work specific to Southern dialects. So maybe you're right that most of the people in this thread are better qualified than I am to be talking about this. Trolly and Fly and Max Cut, they have PhDs in linguistics, right? Maybe I should defer to them. And I can trust they would be objective about all this.
