A friend bought me this for Christmas - haven't read it yet as I need to sort myself out with some reading glasses first - the typefaces used are tiny - but it does look to be very thorough.

I really don't know what to think about Nuclear - fusion (if we can get there) fine but fission still has it's terrible waste issue does it not.

… along with mixing every other socio-economic issue in with climate change. Dead in committee.

One of the major benefits of e-books is being able to choose the font style and type.

I don't know which is worse, storing toxic waste safely for generations or releasing tons of CO2 into the atmosphere for generations.

I hate AIPAC, it doesn't talk for me, but that stereotype was used to justify transporting my grandfather's family to the gas chambers and hence I find it offensive when it's repackaged as "AIPAC" rather than "elders of zion" or whatever.
That's a pretty deep interpretation of a tweet...

NRA has a stranglehold on gun issues. They pay off politicians for their support.

This AOC character certainly knows how to troll a thread into derail.

To see who has power over you find who you cannot criticize, etc.

AIPAC is just an arm of the military-industrial complex.

Anyone for Brexit?

nope, the waste issue is minor.

Problem is people think all waste is high level waste, there's actually very low amounts of high level waste

Jman should institute the 500 post or whatever # rule he had in mind so the 14/88 crew problem is fixed.

PG,

Ok. Yeah, I was thinking of "magic grandpa". I did have to confirm that that meant Corbyn and not Bernie.

That presentation on the essential, institutionalised corruption of US politics, particularly since the 'big money is free speech' ruling in Citizens United v FEC -- presumably posted before, but I haven't read back -- was pretty good.

Lol. Will people learn not to troll her?

Has AOC said anything about the whole Israel controversy? She's smart enough to not bother to get involved.

The credit score thing is a legit outrage. Some absurd percentage of people have a medical collection on their report, often something they were either erroneously billed for or don’t know about. To say nothing of balance billing.
02-11-2019 , 10:45 PM
I just find it amusing that they thought saying she supposedly had a 400 credit score was something people would see and actually think less of her for.

If you are judging someone based on their credit score, you are 100% a terrible person.

The country club republicans, who never interact with anyone who isn’t an upper middle class white person, employee or service industry worker, are seemingly unaware that without poor whites the GOP would never win. Hence nonsense like credit score shaming.

The country clubbers probably imagine that poor people admire and respect them for having great credit scores.

And if someone relies on credit is there no agency or responsibility for them to check their credit scores? The reason people have ****ty credit scores is because they have demonstrated unreliability in paying debts or irresponsibility in understanding their obligations therein.
