If we break it down though, whose honor (or worth as a person) are we supposed to be defending here? It's not any actual person, it's the "Progressive agenda". Is it a third party, for instance, people who have 'trains ran on them'? I guess, but that doesn't seem like a distinct and vulnerable group, unlike, say, sex workers.

I'd feel a lot worse if, others had mentioned, she implied something sexual towards Republicans but she didn't. As it is I feel like the wording is unfortunate, but not really worrisome.
not upset, just pointing out that to say its not worrisome I think is severely biased. If Palin had said in 2009 that she was going to "run train on a conservative agenda", I'm sure it woulda created a ****storm. its funny in the same way I laugh at republicans who claim the moral high ground and fully accept Trump as president.

Dems really need to take back the Senate so they can put an end to all these lousy judges.

How would an R say this? We are going to run a train on poor people, minorities, social safety nets, the environment, health care, and democracy?

I think the way they say that is you will be tired of winning.

Yes, True. Contemporary repubs pay dearly for things like this.

gang bang verbiage

When his frat buddies say it, it’s Locker room talk. When a Latina says it, it’s gang bang talk.

It was a slightly bizarre comment and I'm not sure what AOC meant by it and I'm not sure she was sure either. But you could be a bit more original instead of just parroting right-wing websites.

Had Sarah Palin said circa 2009 that she wanted to “run train on the conservative agenda,” it would have been a three-week festival for lefty blogs, final proof amid various other gaffes that she’d never rise above being an object of ridicule.

Glad to see AOC taking a page out of a Jed Bartlet's book and walking over to senate during a shut down to negotiate. Dems need to keep using that West Wing playbook. It's the only way they win.

The conservatives are so lame. They think it's about the words and not the meaning. Like Trump using the word "pussy" was supposedly the problem. As pointed out, the thing AOC said off-hand, if taken that way, was an offense against progressives.

The "run the train" hysteria again exemplifies how incredibly shook conservatives are about AOC, and how they have literally nothing on her other than making mountain out of molehills. Hell, this situation doesn't even deserve to be described as big as a molehill. It's doubly incredible how little they have on AOC, given she's by far the biggest politician to have grown up in the social media age. She is of the age where she probably had a Facebook account in high school. Yet all they could find is a video of her having a great time in college.

AOC is very good about shifting talk/narratives.

That quote of hers where she admits she dgaf about facts I really hate though, but seeing a lot of right wing playbook get thrown back in their faces is amusing.

AFAIK there is no such quote. There's this one where she thinks being precise is less important than being moral. She still asserts that facts are important though and says when she screws up she corrects herself. If you're referring to this then I think you might be mischaracterising her position some.

Quote:
Cooper: One of the criticisms of you is that— that your math is fuzzy. The Washington Post recently awarded you four Pinocchios—
Ocasio-Cortez: Oh my goodness—
Cooper: —for misstating some statistics about Pentagon spending?
Ocasio-Cortez: If people want to really blow up one figure here or one word there, I would argue that they're missing the forest for the trees. I think that there's a lot of people more concerned about being precisely, factually, and semantically correct than about being morally right.
Cooper: But being factually correct is important—
Ocasio-Cortez: It's absolutely important. And whenever I make a mistake. I say, "OK, this was clumsy." and then I restate what my point was. But it's— it's not the same thing as— as the President lying about immigrants. It's not the same thing, at all.

Need some graphic design artists to make some Where’s-Waldo-type posters featuring Mitch.

Ideas:

Hiding in the NRA
Hiding in the Oval Office behind Trump
Hiding in a lake among turtles
