What strategy should I use to try to get him to vote beto? Obviously he's not gonna be in love with his policies. Should I just talk about how Beto seems genuine and wants to actually do things for texas?
Does he like you as a person? I think I’m having success with my grandma bc I’m the grandchild that she respects the most and considers the smartest/most knowledgeable about the world. Her two kids are polar opposites so she can’t align with both of them (my mom is super liberal and my uncle is insanely conservative).
I’m literally just making two appeals. One is that I would never lie to her and having her confirm that she trusts me to tell her the facts. Once you get that you have a million topics to choose from that most people support outside of politics but hate to admit in the partisan framework. The second is that I believe that Brian kemp (we’re in Georgia) is dangerous to her Medicare benefits, our family, and our future. I’m making this point about republicans in general but specifically about kemp bc that’s by far the most important race here.
If those won’t work I’d focus on how bad Cruz is and how he’s purely a politician and not a representative of the state. Don’t try to sell him on Beto imo. Try to sell him on not-Cruz. Even say stuff like “what’s the worst that can happen? Republicans will still probably control the senate and you’ll get to see if this guy is any better and next time there will be a different republican than Cruz”
