While I agree 100%, it also shows they are at the end of their rope. You keep having lawyers here and along with guys like Avenatti and Preet saying the law shows the truth in the end. Seems like Trump is trying to plug holes with band aids while the dam is about to break.

I think Abramson is usually credible and he's actually practiced criminal law, but I'm not going to dig through this 50 tweet thread on the memos. Here's it is, however, if anyone cares to.

BTW, think the Maddow interview of Comey was quite good. She knew the facts and asked pointed questions, many of which he could not answer due to the ongoing investigation. She would have made a very good lawyer. Also, Comey came off, of course, as quite credible.

That's definitely Scavino. Hardly even trying.

I hate the GOP more than anything on earth. Somehow the media continues to insist the parts don't make up the whole. Literally anyone willing to associate with the party is a piece of **** human. Enough with giving them any respect. The Parkland Kids have it right: just mock and satirize them.

Related: ****ing Mitch McConnell is a god damn traitor.

I mean he’s made a ton of predictions and almost without exception they prove to be rooted in fact more than speculation. His predictions generally prove to be generally true excepting some nuance.

Has there ever been a similar situation like this is which large portions of Congress were complicit in and openly obstructing a serious criminal investigation? Like, I would guess probably during the civil war era or Reconstruction, but Idont know anything specific.

NYT's The Daily podcast today is an interview with Jim Comey. They go at him over a couple things and I think he actually defends his actions pretty well and comes off thoughtful and introspective. The entire interview is about him rather than the investigation, so it's worth a listen if you're interested in Comey himself, but don't expect much about Trump

**** Jim Comey. If he weren't a garden variety GOP stooge he wouldn't have tried to delegitimize Hillary with that stupid ass press conference.

Again, I get that people reflexively want to like him now that Trump is ranting against him. Don't be fooled, he is a piece of **** and Donald Trump would not be president were he a decent human being.

WaPo has big article from former Forbes reporter abot Trump constantly lying to inflate his wealth by 10x+. I'm sure he's leveraging the presidency to increase his net worth, and I'm 75% sure he'd be broke now if not for foreign corrupt practices and other shady dealings. He's leveraged to the hilt and desperate to cash in, even if that means selling US foreign policy. That is where Putin comes in.

Trump lied to me about his wealth to get onto the Forbes 400. Here are the tapes.

Not sure how fast my pony is, but here is a pretty good article describing why the GOP was so intent on getting the memos out there.

https://slate.com/news-and-politics/...planation.html

The tl,dr version is that Fox News reported a while ago that Comey leaked four memos. Since the GOP knew he had written seven memos, and four were classified, it meant at least one of the leaked memos had to be classified. But the reality is that the memo that was leaked, which was unclassified, was four pages, and not that four memos were leaked.

So the GOP is pretty much relying on what is ultimately flawed reporting from FOX to try and indict Comey. Which tells you all you need to know about the level of intelligence of your average congressional rep.

Shrug, guess we'll agree to disagree on that

In regards to the Parkland kids. In the aftermath, they've created the next FOX news host. Have you seen the kid that goes on every right wing show to refute the actions and words of his fellow students?

Looks like Cohen isn't going to get a pardon and is a lock to flip.

Jay Goldberg client list: Matty "The Horse" Ianniello, Joe "Scarface" Agone, Vincent "Jimmy Blue Eyes" Alo, Frank "The Old Man" Tieri, and Donald "Pussy Grabber" Trump.

Kind of amazing how quickly we forgot about a person dying in a fire in Trump Tower in which Cohen called somebody else in the tower to get out and that Trump may have fathered a child out-of-wedlock that he paid the mother off to keep her quiet.

Maybe they don't prove anything either way on the big questions. But some people confuse "No evidence of X" for "Evidence of no X"

If anything they could be slightly embarrassing and make Trump look insecure, but you could also read it as Comey's attempt to make him look insecure by focusing on certain conversation points.
