The worst part is that most of them used to be more moderate and voted third party or even considered some Democrats (lol at that any longer). They are a clear example of how the right wing propaganda machine has completely manipulated the conservative part of the country.

Just a lot of white male affirmative action from Obama and Clinton I guess?
Hey look, noted liberal warrior Dan with a hot take on the Gorsuck nomination.

Remember when Microsoft made an AI chatbot and it became really racist in like a day so they shut it down? Are we sure it didn't just migrate here and is malfunctioning again?

Well, when I say **** your relatives it's just an expression. I don't wish them any harm. They should just realize that they are terrible at this and of their own accord refrain from ever voting again.

In the car the other day, my 8-year old suddenly said, in a menacing voice, "JON OSSOFF IS ONE OF THEM."

Then he giggled. Even he sees how ridiculous it is. He's quite woke.

Our Ossoff yard sign is holding strong through this day of storms.

So Bannon was just keeping an eye on Flynn because Flynn, it's implied, had some crazy eyes and some Russian shenanigans ( and who was intentionally hired by Trump), and also Rice, who no one really mentioned until this week specifically for the whole "unmasking" schtick, but also he never went to a meeting so he actually didn't know what was going on?

It could be that guys are operating on so many different chess levels it's hard to keep up it could be that they're so dumb they're trying to leak something to cover all bases and failing to do cover any of them because it's so transparent what they're trying to do.

LOL

What is the point of **** like this? Poco, everyone knows you're some bitterly racist Trumpkin trying to wind up the libs because all of you dip****s adopt the same faux objective intellectual writing style.

It's bizarre. Why not just be honest? And if you can't be honest about it, why are you so smug about failing miserably at fooling people?

If you guys were clever enough to fool liberals, you'd be liberal.

Lol something big is coming.

This could not possibly be going "better" in the most cynical sense of the word. Even I never expected them to be this incompetent.

This is amazing even for Trump's administration.

Yeah, like some of the incompetence I think is by destructive design from Bannon to tear down government. So when they appoint incompetent agency heads, I worry a little... But there is really no advantage to be seen for their own utter incompetence.

Here and there a story to distract from the real issues makes sense... But the overwhelming incompetence is spectacular, and it's minimizing their impact.

If you figure they have an 18-month window before the midterm campaigns to actually get stuff done, they're already 2.5 months in, or a little under 15%. They've dealt us some defeats, but not many (any?) that aren't quickly reversible by a Democratic POTUS #46. I guess the Internet privacy stuff will require Congressional action. Further, we're about 75% through the first 100 days when the most stuff gets done.

The deportations and the in-your-face methods ICE is using are deeply troubling, but may be a net positive for liberal causes in the long run... At an unacceptable price, I'll add, in terms of human suffering and the decaying moral fabric of our country... But, it may change opinions of some conservatives on the issue when they see it in their communities with some of the hard-working immigrants they know and love. We've seen some of these articles already.

At this point, I'm more worried about fading nuclear war (or conventional war) than the rest. Not because the likelihood of nuclear war is too much higher than it was on 1/21 (slightly), but because the resistance has done such a good job on the rest.

This is a great overview of how the big grift of right wing media led to Trump
Quote:
But the complete and inarguable disaster of the Bush administration—a failure of the conservative movement itself, one undeniable even to many consumers of the parallel conservative media—and his abrupt replacement by a black man, caused a national nervous breakdown among the people who’d been told, for many years, that conservatism could not fail, and that all Real Americans agreed with them.

Rather rapidly, two things happened: First, Republicans realized they’d radicalized their base to a point where nothing they did in power could satisfy their most fervent constituents. Then—in a much more consequential development—a large portion of the Republican Congressional caucus became people who themselves consume garbage conservative media, and nothing else.

Seems like this list goes for a lot of "progressive" white voters as well. Which is part of the reason why we got here in the first place.

True, however

-The internet privacy bill has already been passed by both houses and signed into law.
-The Resistance needs to take this as a sign to double down on our efforts rather than relaxing and becoming complacent. The activism is working, but as soon as we let off the gas we are going to get pummeled.

Einbert,

You think that a lot of self-professed "progressives" voted for Trump?

He can't help himself. All he knows is how to a run a suspense-filled, reality TV Presidency even during the most serious crises.

Some, but I think a lot more voted for Gary Johnson, Jill Stein, Bernie Sanders, or just didn't show up to vote at all. Or even left their ballot blank. But I'll give an example of what I mean: Caitlin Jenner. A person who is supposedly all about LGBT rights, but when it comes right down to it, money is more important than human rights (because she has her own money and property and doesn't have to worry about being subject to the same humiliations as normal everyday trans people). The same goes for Ivanka and a lot of white people in general.

Another great paragraph from Fly's article

Quote:
The most important major divide among Congressional Republicans isn’t between moderates and conservatives, or establishment and anti-establishment politicians, but between those who know that their agenda is hugely unpopular and that they have to force it through under cover of darkness, and the louder, dumber ones who believe their own bull****. And for those loud, dumb members, egged on by a media apparatus that has trained its audience to demand the impossible and punish the sell-outs who can’t deliver, those more tactical members are cowards and RINOs.
